We wanted the styling to feel refined, personal and effortless.
Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…
We are based in Zurich, where we have built our life together over the past few years. Claudia works as an architect, and William works in pharmaceutical sales. Coming from Switzerland and England respectively, our relationship has always been shaped by different cultures, families and traditions coming together naturally.
Outside of work, we love travelling, discovering new places and spending time with friends and family. We value meaningful experiences, beautiful environments and creating memories around shared moments. These elements naturally influenced the way we approached our wedding as well.
How / where / when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?
We met online in Zurich in April 2021. Our first date took place in the Botanical Gardens before continuing with drinks by the lake.
The meeting felt easy and natural from the beginning. What started as a relaxed afternoon quickly developed into a deeper connection built on shared curiosity, humour and a similar outlook on life. Looking back, that first date captured many of the things that still define our relationship today — calm moments, conversation, spontaneity and enjoying simple experiences together.

What styling and visual elements worked best for you?
Villa Semenza provided the perfect atmosphere for the wedding we had imagined — elegant, warm and relaxed without feeling overly formal.
The ceremony took place in the garden, surrounded by greenery and natural light, while the reception moved into the villa’s courtyard for dinner under hanging lights. We loved the intimacy and softness this created as the evening unfolded.
Rather than focusing on excess decoration, we wanted the styling to feel refined, personal and effortless. Thoughtful floral design, carefully curated printed materials and the beauty of the location itself all worked together to create an atmosphere that felt authentic to us and welcoming for our guests.

What did you enjoy most about the planning process, and do you have any tips for couples starting their wedding planning journey?
One of the most enjoyable parts of planning was creating a celebration that genuinely reflected our own vision rather than trying to recreate somebody else’s wedding.
Adding personal touches made the experience fun, meaningful and unique, while ensuring our guests would leave with strong memories of the day.
For couples starting their planning journey, our biggest advice would be to stay true to yourselves and to find the right wedding planner — someone who understands your vision and helps make the entire process smooth and enjoyable.
Organising a wedding from abroad can be complex, and having the right guidance made all the difference for us.

Tell us about your vendors. Were there any standout suppliers you would like to make special mention of?
We felt incredibly fortunate with the team surrounding our wedding. Each supplier contributed not only professionally but also creatively, helping bring our vision to life in a natural and seamless way.
Planning from Switzerland meant that having trusted people on the ground was essential. Working with a planner who understood our aesthetic and priorities allowed us to truly enjoy the process and remain present throughout the day.
Our photographer captured the celebration beautifully with a refined and authentic approach, while the florals, music, stationery and catering all contributed to the atmosphere we had imagined: elegant, relaxed and deeply personal.

Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, and is there a story?
Claudia chose a gown by A La Robe, drawn to its refined simplicity and timeless elegance. The design felt understated yet distinctive and reflected her personal style beautifully.
William wore a suit by Cad & The Dandy, choosing a classic tailored look that balanced elegance and comfort.
Together, the outfits felt aligned with the overall aesthetic of the wedding — sophisticated, effortless and quietly elegant.

Tell us about your wedding and engagement rings.
Claudia’s ring was custom-made by Seiler Juwelier Basel, giving it a very personal significance and allowing for a design that felt entirely unique.
William chose the Cartier 1895 ring, appreciating its timeless design and understated elegance.
Together, the rings reflect both individuality and partnership — two different styles coming together as part of the same story.
What were one or two elements that were most important to you both that you were happy to spend a little more on?
Having our own vision and personal touch was incredibly important to us. We wanted the wedding to feel authentic and genuinely representative of who we are as a couple.
Finding the right planner was also essential. Working with someone who shared our vision, guided us through the planning process and ensured everything ran smoothly allowed us to enjoy the experience fully and feel completely relaxed on the wedding day.

Was there a favourite moment (or two) that you will treasure always?
The moments leading up to the wedding itself are among our favourite memories: the aperitif the evening before with friends arriving, the excitement of getting ready with our bridal and groom parties and finally seeing each other at the aisle.
After months of planning, seeing everything come together and sharing that moment with the people we love most was truly unforgettable.
What does being married mean to you, and are there any special rituals you have that you would like to share?
Being married means moving through life as true partners — supporting each other through both the significant milestones and the quieter everyday moments.
For us, marriage represents commitment, trust and the joy of building a future together while embracing the different cultures, families and experiences that shaped our relationship. It is about creating a life that feels shared, intentional and deeply rooted in mutual support, curiosity and love.
