Clementine + Kane by Smith + Archer

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship:

Kane locked eyes on Clemi at a Surf camp in Wilsons Prom Victoria. He said to his friends “I’m going to marry that girl one day”. He mustered up the courage to talk to me and as they say the rest was history we have been together since the 14/1/2012 at the tender age of 15 and 17.

I am a Cardiac Nurse and Kane does welding inspection. We love time with our family, friends, good food and a few drinks. We have grown together and have a deep understanding and love for one another.

Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details:

We were originally planning on getting married in Scotland (COVID) so we tried to bring a bit of that home. My mum’s family were Scottish heritage. I love the colours of autumn and the beautiful gardens and landscapes in the Macedon Ranges. We drew on the deep hues and loved unstructured arrangements to mimic a real garden bed. Aimee did a perfect job at bringing my vision to life. I really wanted the reception to feel cosy and intimate the addition of candles with the venues warm timber tables really encapsulated that. It was so beautiful to sit at the bridal table looking at everyone engaging with one another and the beautiful ambient lightening with the stunning moody flowers.

Tell us about your main outfits:

Kane wanted black and white classic shuits they were a unique waffle material so they  were modern yet classic.

I knew this was my dress a couple of years ago when I saw it. I told myself to make sure I try on others to compare but the ‘Lexie’ dress was definitely mine it was unique and so me, I felt amazing in it. I wore a long veil for the wow factor in the church and my mums simple diamond studs.

What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day:

One of the best moments was the dancefloor with DJ Jaaz playing the saxophone everyone having a great time literally was the happiest moment of our lives. Getting photos with the Scottish highland cows. The bubble we were both in during the ceremony – surreal. Bagpipes definitely were a stand out!

Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together:

Work out what you both value about the day, you don’t have to spend copious amounts of money on everything but spend in areas that you value. Try and enjoy the lead up (I know planning during a pandemic is hard and uncertain) – key is to be flexible.
