Daisy Brides – Curated Collection Launch

Today sees leading fashion bridal brand Daisy Brides launch its curated collection with a filmed outdoor runway show! This concept of delivering a new collection to market really gives women insight into how pieces can be worn, how they look in a real-life environment and enables them to imagine what they would be like on a wedding day.

See below the launch film followed by an exclusive interview with the designer and some still images too:

This collection is one for the bride who is a free spirit at heart and wants something modern that they can even perhaps wear again. We have an exclusive interview with Designer Katie Yeung

Katie, tell us about your Daisy Brides live runway shoot, where is the location, how did it run?

We had the most gorgeous group of models all from Red 11 Model Management and Unique Model Management. We filmed the campaign at a quiet beach in Herne Bay, Auckland. It was a really fun vibe and so exciting to see the collection being worn by so many beautiful and different women. Doing a runway outside was something we had not done before, it felt so vibrant and very much like a beach wedding would be.

What are your favourite pieces from the collection and why?
I personally love the Freesia Skirt and the Bernadette Bustier. They are a perfect combination of craftsmanship in a corset lightweight bustier, created in our newest custom textured jacquard fabric – modern and chic. The Freesia skirt suits a free-spirited princess with practical pockets in luxe Royal Taffeta.

Both pieces can be styled separately with anything a bride likes after her nuptials, such as denim, a silk top etc. It really shows off the Daisy vibe, sustainable wearability and this set of mix and match is just full of personality.

How do you think the live runway will help brides?

So much more movement! Brides can see how each piece fits on a body, the way it moves in real life under the sun.
It’s just so much more informative than sitting in our showroom on a hanger/mannequin. It really helps them to imagine what each piece would be like on an actual wedding day.

What was the most exciting and fun thing about the day?
Bei
ng with the best people I love to work with, the passion, the giggles, the challenges and how we come together as a team towards a common goal. I love the results and have enjoyed the journey. We will only soar upwards from here.
