Eve + Josh by Olivia Rose Photography

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…

Eve – I’m a primary school teacher. I love working with children, walking alongside them helping them to
grow socially, spiritually and in their education. I admire the honesty children bring to the classroom alongside
a youthful perspective on life.

Eve- My interests are fashion, particularly second-hand fashion and sustainable fashion brands. I love our dogs, going to the beach for a walk or swim and taking time out with my family to connect and chill out.

Josh – I’m a carpenter. I work on new builds and love working alongside other trades to create amazing homes. I enjoy problem solving when it comes to building and am passionate about producing work to the highest quality. I love our kelpie Rolly and going to the beach where I grew up.

How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?

We both met at St Clare’s in Taree and have been dating since I was 13 and Josh was 14, there is a year and a
half between us. We have not been together for 10 years. We were friends for the first 6 months until Josh bothered me enough that I decided I would date him!

When did you first realise that this was someone you’d like to spend the rest of your life with?

Josh – From the day I met Eve. Eve – I think we both always knew. Josh is genuinely the nicest and most caring person I have ever met.

Was there a proposal? Tell us a little about it…

In October 2018 we travelled to Phuket, Thailand. I knew a proposal was coming (well I was very hopeful). Whenever we travel overseas, I always wake up super early on the first day excited to explore, and of course on this trip I awoke super early, so at 7am we went for a walk on the beach and Josh popped the question with the fastest lunge I’ve ever seen and we were engaged by 7.30 in the morning. Josh had been so worried taking our engagement ring overseas and 10 hours on a plane that he just couldn’t wait any longer.

Tell us about the vision you had for the mood or style of your wedding…

We wanted a chilled out boho wedding which was a true celebration of our love. We had originally planned
to have a wedding of around 80 people and cancelled it due to covid. We rescheduled and had a small wedding of around 35 with only close friends, parents and siblings and it was beautiful.

Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, is there a story?

Eve – I wore the Spell Tamsin gown, I bought it second hand and had it professionally altered to be a tighter
fit. My shoes were from princess highway and I bought them second hand. I changed into sandals at the reception on the boat. Josh’s white linen shirt and belt was from Tarocash and his jacket and pants were from Connor. His shoes we already had at home.

What was one element you were happy to splurge on?

Photography, this was something that was really important to us, to have beautiful photos that we would have forever.

Did anything happen on your wedding day that you laugh about in hindsight (even if it was stressful
at the time)?

We laugh about how much I cried at the ceremony. I really tried to hold it together but I was full of emotions and couldn’t hold it in.
