Georgia + Kroydon by Skye Carter

We were going for Italian vibes but ended up with Europe meets Samoa.

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…

We are Georgia and Kroydon, a young couple who absolutely love our two pups Bali & Storm, our families & friends, and are very excited for our future. We have started a business together, travelled together, had an incredible wedding, and are now settling down for the next journey in life together!

How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?

We met at Headquarters of all places! Kroydon woo’d Georgia with a bottle of wine and the rest is history.

Tell us about the vision you had for the mood and style of your wedding. (theme, key styling elements, florals, colour palettes etc.).

We were going for Italian vibes but ended up with Europe meets Samoa and we loved it!!!

What styling and visual elements worked best for you? (could be things, the florals, particular hire products or your marquee, etc., something the stylist created or simply just the scenic beauty of your location or the existing design of your venue).

Our location was stunning, it made everything 100 times more beautiful. The standout visual elements was definitely the florals / table décor paired with the unique stationery.

What did you enjoy most about the planning process, and do you have any tips for couples starting their wedding planning journey?

I’m very lucky with my husband because he planned 90% of the styling elements! I wouldn’t have the first clue, I just sent the emails LOL so my advice would be to pick your husband wiseley haha. But all jokes aside, we absolutely loved planning every detail together, from the food to the seating chart, it was an incredible journey. Advice would be to come prepared, do some research separately, and come together to make both of your ideas come to life!

Tell us about your vendors. Were there any standout suppliers you would like to make special mention of?

Yes 100% – standout vendors were our photographer Skye, she was just beautiful to work with from the initial planning to after the wedding; she made every step of the way so smooth and comfortable. Our gorgeous wedding Co-Ordinator Lisa, she saved us in the few weeks leading up to the wedding and things just started to get crazy and overwhelming! She had an answer for everything and we really needed that. Our drinks team at Black Pineapple were another stand out, they knew exactly what they were doing and nailed our brief.

Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, and is there a story?

Kroydon changed his mind last minute and decided to go with transitional Samoan attire, and it worked! It was quite difficult to stay transitional whilst also considering modern style into the outfit; hence why we ended up picking the Porter James Box Tee which made it super trendy whilst incorporating the traditional Samoan skirt and Ula Fala’s (Samoan necklaces).

Tell us about your wedding and engagement rings.

Kroydon proposed to me with a gorgeous diamond from the beautiful Naveya and Sloane, after the proposal we both went in to pick the perfect setting. The team at Naveya and Sloane are so helpful and they create the most stunning pieces. We also got Kroydon’s wedding band from N&S too, it was a great experience as he was very picky with this piece (wearing it every day is a big commitment so it had to be comfortable and suitable for all occasions).

What were one or two elements that were most important to you both that you were happy to spend a little more on? (food, photography, florals, the venue, your outfits?).

100% would be the photography and the venue. Both of these elements can be very expensive, but hey are soooo worth it. We have beautiful memories from the wedding and are so thankful that they were all captured by Skye, you can see the raw emotion in all of our shots and I’m so grateful we can go back and look. The venue just speaks for itself, very pricey but well worth the money, the location is key!

Was there a favourite moment (or two) that you will treasure always?

Moment 1 – walking down the aisle / our vows. Seeing eachother for the first time after a whole day of adrenalin and emotion, it’s so special. Your whole love story replays in your head before you reach each other at the alter, it’s an incredible moment.
Moment 2 – the performances at our wedding were incredible! I performed a Samoan Siva which was extremely intimidating as a white woman but meant so much to my husband and his family. Kroydon and his groomsmen / grooms lady also performed a dance which just lit up the whole wedding. Have fun at your wedding! It doesn’t always have to be full of formalities.
