Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…
Germana, 28, from Agrigento, works as a healthcare consultant in Palermo, where she keeps a demanding schedule. Nicolò, 32, from Palermo, is an air ambulance pilot, often away for work. Amid busy schedules, we make time for weekends filled with travel, motorbike rides, friends, and the occasional jazz concert, all for the love of it.
How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?
We first met in 2017/2018 at a bar in Palermo, introduced by mutual friends who thought we’d have a lot in common. It wasn’t until years later, when we talked about that first meeting, that we realised we had both had the same thought: “I’d like to get to know this person better.”
What styling and visual elements worked best for you? (could be things, the florals, particular hire products or your marquee, etc., something the stylist created or simply just the scenic beauty of your location or the existing design of your venue).
The true protagonist was the setting itself: the colours chosen for the table setting blended seamlessly with the landscape, echoing the blue of the sea and the red hues of the sunset, making every detail feel like part of one continuous natural scene.
What did you enjoy most about the planning process, and do you have any tips for couples starting their wedding planning journey?
We were always on the same page. Choosing the venue was probably the most exciting part and also the most nerve-wracking, since we had no Plan B. After that, the fun really began, choosing the colours and all the little details that brought everything together. Our advice? Trust your vendors, let go of the stress, and enjoy the whole experience.
Tell us about your vendors. Were there any standout suppliers you would like to make special mention of?
Most of our vendors have become like family to us. Fiabesco, with Ilenia, has been part of so many important moments over the years: my 18th birthday, my graduation, and now our wedding. The bouquet she delivered was truly unforgettable.
Claudio and Antonio are, without a doubt, the best musicians we know. Renata, our wedding planner, has watched Nicolò grow up and has been by our side through every stage. Thanks to her and her team, we were able to enjoy a perfect day without a worry in the world.
The catering was a wonderful discovery, and we still receive genuine compliments about it. Arte21 and Noemi, our videographers and photographers, made us feel completely at ease throughout the day. My makeup artist and hairstylist have also become more than just professionals — they are now true friends.
Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, and is there a story?
I already knew Maria Teresa from Majorca. As soon as she saw me, she suggested the perfect dress for me, with plenty of lace, just as I had requested. The third dress I tried on was a perfect fit, and I didn’t want to try on any others.
Nicolò wanted his first-ever suit to be made to measure, in dark grey to stand out, with a simple, understated cut.
Tell us about your wedding and engagement rings.
We wanted our wedding bands to feel personal to us, rather than being exactly the same. We’ve always been different in character, but somehow we complement each other perfectly. That’s why we chose Pomellato’s two-tone bands as mirror images of one another — yellow and white gold reversed between us, different but beautifully connected
What were one or two elements that were most important to you both that you were happy to spend a little more on? (food, photography, florals, the venue, your outfits?).
Food, our outfits and the venue were our biggest priorities. We wanted our guests to eat incredibly well, to feel completely like ourselves in what we wore, and to have the perfect setting to create memories we’ll treasure forever.
Was there a favourite moment (or two) that you will treasure always?
Getting ready, surrounded by the people I love. The embrace at the altar. And that moment just for the two of us in the car, newly married and on our way to the venue — a quiet pause before the pure joy of the celebration began.
What does being married mean to you, and are there any special rituals you have that you would like to share?
In reality, nothing has changed, except that our love has grown stronger and we have an even greater desire to give more to each other. Communicating our feelings is essential. Nicolò is very good at it, and I’m learning from him. Our ritual? Dinner at our favourite place, talking about everything and nothing.
