We embraced the untamed beauty of a summer meadow filled with wildflower tones and textural elements that felt spontaneous and alive.
Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…
Harry is a keen golfer and works as an operations manager for a construction company in Suffolk. I (Lottie) qualified as a midwife in 2018 and now travel the world as a private maternity nurse and nanny. Together, we adore our wire-haired dachshund, Fig, who’s always by our side during long country walks in Suffolk. These walks, paired with a flat white and a cinnamon swirl, are our simple, shared slice of heaven.
How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?
Harry and I first crossed paths in 2010 during school. We built a strong friendship over the years, but it wasn’t until we left for university that the distance—134 miles, to be exact—revealed how much we truly meant to each other. In our first year of university, the miles between us became more of a bridge than a barrier, and we finally realised we were meant to be more than friends.

When did you first realise that this was someone you’d like to spend the rest of your life with?
From the moment we met, we felt an undeniable bond. At the time, we didn’t know it was screaming “forever” — we were so young! But when we started dating, it didn’t take long to feel certain. Within weeks, we both knew this connection was unlike anything else and couldn’t imagine life without each other.
Tell us about the vision you had for the mood and style of your wedding.
Our vision for the wedding was rooted in flowers—initially creams and greens, but that quickly evolved into a wild, colourful vibe. The Flower Hut opened my eyes to the magic of colour, texture, and scent. The theme? “No theme.” We embraced the untamed beauty of a summer meadow filled with wildflower tones and textural elements that felt spontaneous and alive.

What styling and visual elements worked best for you?
The harmony between the venue, florist, and stationery was perfection—they complemented each other so naturally that nothing felt staged. Polly Williams’ bespoke artwork paired beautifully with The Flower Hut’s breathtaking florals, and the bridesmaids’ Needle & Thread dresses flowed seamlessly into the palette. The barn venue itself added a rustic, earthy touch that anchored everything together, making it feel all very beautiful and cohesive.
What did you enjoy most about the planning process and do you have any tips for couples starting their wedding planning journey?
Sharing the planning journey with Harry was so much fun. It was important to me that every decision felt like “ours” and not just mine. My biggest advice to couples is to trust your suppliers. Once you’ve done your research and booked them, let go of the worry—they’re professionals, and they’ll deliver! Most importantly, remember your guests are there because they love you. Don’t stress the small stuff, and everyone is rooting for your day.

Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, is there a story?
I was never the girl who dreamed of her wedding dress from childhood, so I walked into the experience with a completely open mind. I discovered Made with Love bridal dresses and knew instantly that one of their designs would be “the one.” During my first fitting, I’d selected four dresses but couldn’t decide on a fifth required. Kirsty at Perla Nova took charge and chose the fifth for me—and, of course, it turned out to be perfect. It was nothing like the others, but it was perfectly “me.”
As for Harry, he has been a loyal fan of Trotter & Deane for years and always knew his bespoke wedding suit would come from there. That said, he very much cares what I think! So we went together and pored over books of materials for every part of his three-piece suit. Harry selected everything—from the thread colour and buttons to patterns, fabrics, and fit. It was the perfect mix of collaboration and surprise. I helped him feel excited and confident with his choices, but I never saw the suit as a whole until the big day. Seeing him in it for the first time was magical—it felt so special and truly “him.”
What was one, or two elements that were most important to you both that you were happy to spend a little more on?
Photography, florals, food, and the venue were our splurges, and we don’t regret a single penny. Heather Sham, our photographer, was an absolute dream—chic, kind, and so talented at capturing candid moments. Her work meant we didn’t even feel the need for a videographer. The Flower Hut’s artistry shaped the entire aesthetic of the day, while our venue, Botley Hill, and its incredible team brought it all to life. As for the food? Let’s just say the canapés alone had our guests wanting their contact details for weeks!

Did anything happen on your wedding day that you laugh about in hindsight (even if it was stressful at the time)?
There’s one moment Harry and I talk about all the time. It was this incredible two-minute stretch where the band had everyone—us and all our guests—down on the ground, banging the floor to the beat. It was chaotic, magical, and completely unforgettable. It was one of those surreal moments of pure joy where you realise just how special it is to have all your favourite people together, living in the moment with you.
In that split second, I remember thinking, this is the best moment of my life. We were surrounded by the people who mean the most to us—people who love us and want nothing but happiness for our marriage. Everyone was laughing, smiling, singing, and then—out of nowhere—banging the floor in unison. It sounds ridiculous written down, but honestly… you had to be there.
