Paris is the opening chapter of our wedding story, inspired by the romance of Old Hollywood and the timeless elegance of Parisian charm.
Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…
We’re a high-energy couple – he’s in investment banking, and I’m at Google. But when we’re not working, we’re totally obsessed with Formula 1. We try to see at least one Grand Prix every year, and Monza was just incredible. We can’t wait for next season!
Travelling is another one of our big passions, especially when it involves beautiful beaches. We’ve had some unforgettable trips to places like Los Cabos (where he proposed!) and Positano. And next year, we’re getting married in the tropical paradise of Phuket – we’re beyond excited!
Oh, and did we mention we’re huge Disney fans? We’re talking annual passes, matching Mickey ears… We’ve explored every corner of Disneyland Hong Kong and we’ve been to Disney World Orlando and Disneyland Park Los Angeles, and we’re always up for another adventure in the Happiest Place on Earth.
We’re also developing a deep love for wine. We’ve explored Napa Valley and Burgundy so far, and we’re always eager to discover new wine regions. We’re even considering planning our honeymoon around an F1 race and some vineyard visits.
When we’re not traveling or sipping wine, you might find us at a music festival like Ultra Miami. But honestly, sometimes the best nights are spent just cuddling up on the couch at home.
How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?
We met on a night in my birthday month at the very club where my husband moonlights as a DJ (though he was off-duty that evening!). We were introduced through mutual friends, and my first impression was that he was a super young DJ with a baby face – I was genuinely surprised to learn about his intense day job in finance!
His first impression? He thought I was a pretty girl who had just started her career. (This was true – I had literally joined Google, my first job, just one week before we met!)
We instantly bonded over our shared passions for Formula 1 and Disney. He’s actually the biggest Disney fan I’ve ever met! We’ve even dressed up as Aliens from Toy Story for a trip to Disneyland with a friend, and we used to watch F1 races online together long before we started dating (and made our pact to attend one race a year!). A few months into our friendship, we realised there was something more between us, and the rest, as they say, is history!
When did you first realise that this was someone you’d like to spend the rest of your life with?
It came sooo naturally. I started to picture a future with him when I realized how easy it was to be myself around him. We could talk about anything – from silly jokes to serious dreams – and I always felt heard and understood. Our many shared passions definitely brought us closer, but it was the little things that really mattered: the inside jokes, the late-night conversations, the way he always made me laugh. I guess I just knew, deep down, that I’d never met anyone who made me feel so happy and so at home. And that’s when I realized I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him.
Was there a proposal? Tell us a little about it…
We were headed to Los Cabos for my birthday, and let’s just say I had a sneaking suspicion a proposal might be in the works. We’d already booked our wedding venue earlier in the year, after all! So I packed a few white dresses, just in case… 😉
The trip started with a surprise: he’d booked us at the stunning Zadun, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve built into the dunes with breathtaking ocean views. Then, the day before my birthday, he told me we were going out for a special dinner. I put on my favourite dress, and as we waited for the valet to bring our car, he suggested we take a look at the hotel’s balcony.
I followed him, casually holding my jacket, thinking we were just going for a quick look before heading to dinner. When we got there, I saw the most beautiful setup on a private balcony overlooking the sea: fire torches, flowers, candles… It was magical. He looked at me with that look, the one that said it all. My heart skipped a beat. I literally threw my jacket on the ground and shouted, “Oh my, this is it! I can’t wait!”
He led me to the centre of the arrangement and began to speak. It was the most beautiful, emotional moment of my life. The happiness I felt was unlike anything I’d experienced before. It wasn’t the rush of adrenaline I get from a rollercoaster, but a calm, radiant happiness. I could picture us building our future, and this was the start of something truly special. Tears welled up in both our eyes as he nervously got down on one knee. He asked the question, and of course, it was a BIG BIG YES!
Tell us about the vision you had for the mood or style of your wedding.
Paris is the opening chapter of our wedding story, inspired by the romance of Old Hollywood and the timeless elegance of Parisian charm. Just the two of us, beginning our journey at the opulent Château de Ferrières—a breathtaking backdrop—before wandering through the city’s iconic streets. As evening falls, we’ll watch the Eiffel Tower come alive, sparkling against the Parisian night sky. This intimate escape is our quiet prelude to the grand celebration next February at the Rosewood Phuket, where we’ll be surrounded by our loved ones. For now, Paris is our dream come true, a city that mirrors the love story we’re creating together. After all, when it comes to romance, Paris always has the je ne sais quoi.
What was one element you were happy to splurge on?
We knew we wanted something extra special. We fell in love with the idea of capturing our love story at Château de Ferrières, and we decided to go all out and rent a vintage car for the shoot. It was definitely a splurge, but it was so worth it. The car was absolutely stunning, and it added this perfect touch of old-world romance to the photos. We also knew we wanted luxury florals, and Anna from The Blonde and the Blooms went above and beyond the vision we had, creating that added touch of luxury to each photo spot. Also, photography – we’ll treasure those pictures forever– they’re a beautiful reminder of the excitement and celebration of love, and we adore the reel Natalie created for us, too.
Did anything happen on your wedding day that you laugh about in hindsight (even if it was stressful at the time)?
Oh, absolutely! It turns out I’m not exactly a pro at walking in heels. I fell head over heels (literally!) for my pair of gorgeous Jimmy Choo bowed heels, but those 10cm heels were a challenge to walk on the cobblestones.
We were shooting a scene where we were crossing the street in front of the Eiffel Tower, and I tripped… not once, not twice, but three times! And of course, there was a crowd of people watching, probably wondering what on earth this clumsy bride-to-be was doing.
At the time, I wanted to crawl into a hole, but now it’s a funny story we love to tell!
Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, is there a story?
Main dress – Tara Keely from Trinity Bridal – @tara_keely @trinitybridal – I chose a Tara Keely gown from Trinity Bridal (@tara_keely @trinitybridal). It was a timeless, classic design with a simple yet elegant neckline – the perfect mix of princess vibes and old-world charm to match the chateau setting. Wearing that dress symbolised how my childhood dream of marrying my Prince Charming was finally coming true.
