Real Wedding: Justine & Angus – Photography by Fiona Anderson

We were after a castle, and Larnach Castle is the only castle in New Zealand. Once we found the church down the road we knew we had the right place for our special day. The beautiful old colonial church in Pukehiki is like something out of a picture book, and Larnach Castle in all its grand splendour is like a magical kingdom.

We were adamant about creating the whole day ourselves, which is no mean feat, especially trying to coordinate it all from another country (we live in Sydney). We designed everything from our own wedding cards to Angus’ suit jacket and my evening ball gown.

Real Wedding: Fiona & Chris – Photography by Danelle Bohane

We met four years ago at the Golden Sheaf Hotel in Sydney. I’m a Melbourne girl, but was in Sydney for work. Chris was on a typical Saturday night out with his brother, and managed to smoothly and swiftly get my number. The rest is history!

We love the same things - travel, food and wine - but above all things we love to laugh. We laugh constantly when we’re together, and it makes every day special and fun.

Chris proposed at Lake Como, at a beautiful old hotel called Villa D’este. I’d always dreamed of visiting this part of Italy.

Beauty – M.A.C AW 16 Makeup Trends

We attended the M.A.C AW 16 Trend presentation last week and got the low down on makeup trends for the season. There are two main directions for the season, Strict and Loose. We have picked out our favourites from each which translate beautifully for wedding and occasion. STRICT - Flashes of colour, rainbow liners and reflective elements alongside a core collective of decadent and decisively sharp eyes and rouged lips. 'We're pushing the boundaries with the classics this season - making specific choices to take them to an unconventional place' Lyne Desnoyers M.A.C Sharp: The sharp lip, the loud mouth. "Its a pained precision...The extreme texture is what keeps it modern". Accuracy is absolute and this new look is being referred to as 'Minimal Glam Makeup". Skin is worked very simply and the brows are groomed but the eyes are kept very natural with a very intense and perfect lip. A fitting look for a sophisticated bride who wants a timeless look with impact. SHARP1 From left to right: Marni, Mary Katrantzou, Sibling & Zac Posen

Real Wedding: Josh & Emily – By Heather Liddell

Josh & Emily | Jpegs for layout-079

I’d planned to propose sometime during a night of romance, fine dining and a concert of one of our favourite artists. However, that afternoon there was a hectic game of Scrabble that Emily lost, followed by a hissy fit that threatened to disrupt the evening’s plans. Mid-argument I thought to myself, this is as real as married life will get, and if I can only express my love in a romantic setting, then how real is our love? So I pulled out the ring and proposed, kneeling by the bedside. Emily's response (through tears) was “Yes, but you could have waited till I put some pants on!"
