Jenna + Brent by Two Birds and Co

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…

Jenna – I have been working in the financial services industry for the past 4 years and am about to go on maternity leave as we are having out first bub in February.

We love living in the South West of WA where we can enjoy the weekend on our boat and enjoy lunches at the beautiful wineries. Brent Is the Managing director of Cheeky Monkey Brewing Co and loves to drink beer and fish.

How did you meet – and what were your first impressions?

We both met 7 years ago through a mutual friend. I lived in Perth for 3 years while Brent lived in the South West. I eventually resigned from my job and moved down south were we built out first home which we share with our beautiful but naughty Chow Chow called Milo.

When did you first realise that this was someone, you’d like to spend the rest of your life with?

I knew instantly Brent was so special and different from the rest. Our relationship was so effortless from the start and we both felt so comfortable and happy.

Was there a proposal? Tell us a little about it…

Brent and I went over to Melbourne for Brents work and while we were there, we booked a few nights on the Mornington Peninsula. Brent took me to the beach where the beautiful, coloured huts were and proposed there. It was a cold day, so it was just us two which was so amazing and special. I cried and cried and didn’t even say yes until he asked me again. Brent secretly has my ring made by the jeweller with help from my beautiful sister.

Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, is there a story?

I always knew I wanted a very simple elegant dress that I was comfortable in. So, when I came across a beautiful dress on Instagram I took this to my gorgeous seamstress who drew it up and made it in a few months.

Tell us about the vision you had for the mood or style of your wedding…

I wanted our photos to be moody and capture genuine moments of us and our family. Damir captured these perfectly. As our wedding was very small and intimate, I splurged on lots of florals. I was after more earthy and toffee-coloured tones but unfortunately the florist wholesalers did not have a shipment come in in time, so my amazing florist worked with what she has and made the most beautiful arrangements with more romantic colours.

Did anything happen on your wedding day that you laugh about in hindsight (even if it was stressful at the time)?

My dress at the bust was pinned very slightly and it unpinned, and you could see my bra and cleavage, I was panicking as I had to leave in 5 minutes but lucky my aunty has a little sewing kit in her car, of all things! A few attempts later and it was good as new.
