Jessica + Chase by Lauren Campbell

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship:

We’ve been together for 7 years now – we first met through our work in aviation and it’s something we love to share. Every day is a new adventure.

We love being outdoors; bike riding, going camping, snorkelling and four-wheel driving. Most of our hobbies are shared, which allows us to make the most of our time off together. We are like two peas in a pod. It’s so nice to be married to your best friend!

Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details:

Having a small group of people living under the same roof over two nights created the perfect environment for everyone to get to know each other and bond, which we know wouldn’t have been experienced at a larger, more formal wedding. This was unexpected and has become one of the most enjoyable parts of our elopement, for us and for our family. We didn’t really put a lot of thought into what theme or vibe we wanted, however, it ended up being the perfect reflection of us; natural, easy-going, caring and full of love.

Tell us about your main outfits:

Jess: Both my dress and shoes were from Grace loves lace and they fitted like a dream! I felt glamorous without being over the top, and felt just like me!

Chase: I woreSpitfire plane cufflinks, which were a gift from the groom’s grandmother who is no longer with us. They are also a small symbol of aviation, which is where we met and both work.

What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day:

Chase: The small celebration with champagne overlooking the valley immediately after the ceremony.

Jess: The two of us driving to the ceremony in our 4WD, all dressed up feeling like we are on top of the world, with Cheshire Cat grins of excitement!!

Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together:

If you think eloping is something you might want to do, keep looking into it and you will know if it feels right. Your day should be a reflection of you and your love for one another. Don’t let tradition and other people’s expectations direct your decisions. Pay attention to what is most important to you both and let that guide your decisions. We loved our intimate gathering of a few people important to us. We live streamed the ceremony on an ipad for the family that couldn’t make it and even had photos with them on the ipad afterwards to make them feel party of the day.
