Jessie & Tramp by Kelly Oliver

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship … Tramp and I are a very social fun-loving couple who really enjoy spending time with our friends over good food and a drink or three.

We are both extremely hardworking and driven but also don’t like to take life too seriously and love to give each other a bit of stick with our cheeky humour.

We both grew up in the same small town but since Tramp is a wee bit older, we never stumbled across each other until we were a little older, but in saying that that was over 12 years ago now – wow how time flies when you’re having fun huh!

Our first meeting was at a friend’s party where we totally hit it off and couldn’t get enough of one another. We’d talk on the phone every night and spend every free minute together and I guess not much has changed over the years as we’ve built our wonderful life together.

Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details…

For our wedding day we really wanted it to reflect us as a couple and be so much fun for everyone involved – a huge party (done in style) to celebrate our love!

I really had my heart set on getting married somewhere rural under trees and with the ceremony and reception being all in the one place. So, after visiting the Red Barn we knew it was the most perfect setting to get creative for our day of love.

For the styling, I wanted to keep everything elegant and romantic with lots of fresh florals as our statement pieces along with a boheme twist.

Tell us about your main outfits: I wore the dreamy Ferra Nightgown along with the matching sleeves by Rue De Seine.  I absolutely adored this dress and felt incredible in it, it was super comfortable and so much fun to wear with the flowing tassels and bold lace. My Zoe and Morgan Sunburst earrings were a bit of a splurge, but I knew I’d get a lot of wear from them in the future and be reminded of my favourite day!

Tramp always looks so sleek and timeless in black so for our day he wore a full black suit and matching bowtie from Barkers along with black leather ankle boots from Merchant.

What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day? Absolutely everything was so magical. I could not fault a single thing – we had the most incredible day with our nearest and dearest.

I think hearing each other say our vows (as hard and daunting as it was to write them) was an extra special moment as they were from the heart and we both seemed to incorporate a bit of our usual funny banter into them.

As a makeup artist I chose to do my own makeup, this was lovely to be able to decide when to start on my makeup and take my time doing it while chatting away sipping wine with my girls and family.

Our photography Kelly was an absolute champion, I honestly couldn’t have picked a better photographer. She fitted in with us like a long-lost friend and we all had so much fun while away getting photos, and her stunning images speak for themselves!

Chloe my florist is a flower queen and made all my dreams come true after showing her a few ideas I had in mind. It was so exciting to arrive at the red barn and see the florals she had created.

Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together? Enjoy the process of planning a wedding, don’t sweat the little things and don’t second guess your choices because it will all turn out perfectly on the day.  Try to be as organized as possible and accept help when it’s offered so there is nothing left for you to do on the day so you can really enjoy every little minute.  To ease wedding morning nerves champagne and endless laughs with your girls/boys truly is the best recipe.
