Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do, what makes your brand special?
Love Shack is a duo of photography and videography based in Western Australia. We want to give couples a one stop shop when it comes to capturing their wedding and we love making these days relaxed, fun and carefree for everyone. Our brand is special because we work together to craft love stories from your day that will stand the test of time and take out the cringy formalities of weddings.
How did you get started in the wedding industry?
We started in commercial photography / videography (and still dabble over at Cabin Creative). Pretty soon our friends started getting married and then WE both got married in pretty unique ways (Tess got married on her farm where we built a shed in one day, decorated it and had a big ol’ shin dig. Ebony had a backyard wedding ending at the local bowls club complete with a meat raffle). We loved our weddings and enjoy capturing other unique days for couples! (we also love giving couples cool / fun ideas to do on their wedding days which challenge the standard wedding).
What is your number one recommendation for couples/brides who are choosing a photographer?
Carpe Diem (Seize the day!). Don’t sweat the small things, chill out and let your vendors make your wedding day come to life. Listen intently to your partner’s vows and take in each hug from your family and friends – everyone is there for you and loves you so soak it all up rather than stressing about details and other people.
What inspires you?
Comedy. Sounds strange, but we love seeing imagery from nostalgic comedies such as ‘Muriel’s Wedding’, ‘The Castle’ and even the Aussie classic ‘Kath & Kim’. We love taking Australian humour and implementing it into our photography and
videography by using tools such as film photography and 90’s handy cams to create unique products for our couples!
Any exciting plans for the future that you would like to share?
The name “Love Shack” was born to create an all encompassing service. We both have backgrounds in graphic design and would love to implement these skills in a way that somehow helps our couples or other photographers / videographers. Watch this space!
