LUCY —— We live in Sydney where I work as a content strategist while Kyle is a GIS Manager. We met on Tinder nine years ago when we were both living on Australia’s Central Coast. Kyle opened with a funny pick-up line about a TV show he liked, but I didn’t get the reference. But he impressed me on our first date because he knew how to order wine and was well-dressed.
Kyle proposed when we were in Byron visiting my family. It was a stunning day, so we decided to go for a lighthouse walk, which is my favourite walk and one of the things we love doing when we’re in Byron. Kyle took me to Little Wategos Beach, where there was an amazing view, and when I turned around, he was on one knee.
For our wedding, we wanted a lot of colour, creativity and fun with soft pastels, warm tones and classy but relaxed vibes. We put a lot of effort and thought into every detail, especially the food. We got married in winter and the morning of our wedding it rained. We were nervous, but a miracle happened, and the sun came out just in time for photos.
I tried dresses on in four different shops and originally wanted a figure-hugging, mermaid-style dress with a low back, but when I tried the ANU by GLL dress in the Grace Loves Lace boutique with my mother, sister and cousin, I started to cry, which I know is a cliche but it just felt right. The dress also got the biggest reaction from my family and the lovely staff. It was such a unique dress and so buttery soft to wear. I loved the feeling of it on my skin and it was comfortable enough to be able to dance in all night.
KYLE —— MJ Bale is my favourite suit store by far. My friends and I have had numerous fittings there for our respective weddings and the experience and quality is excellent. For me, the standout was the watch I chose. I’d long had an idea of what I wanted and the Black Bay Chrono turned out to be perfect.
