My vision when planning our wedding was always to be timeless and elegant. The colour scheme from the beginning was always going to be white, beige, and sandy tones.
Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…
I am an interior designer, and my Husband works in the fitness industry. We love spending time with our 4-year-old daughter and our Australian Shepherd Henry on the weekends, usually somewhere by the beach. We love to travel and get away as much as we can.
How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?
We met at a bar in Adelaide after a few weeks of cheeky back-and-forth chatting on Instagram. We were both extremely nervous, I had cancelled on a few dates we had planned prior due to nerves. Our relationship came very naturally. Conversation flowed and so did the drinks, the rest is history.
When did you first realise that this was someone, you’d like to spend the rest of your life with?
Ben dropped the L bomb within three weeks of us seeing each other. I knew within these three weeks that I was going to spend the rest of my life with him. Ben’s mannerisms, his sense of humour and how much he cared for me are identical to my friends and family, he felt like home. The way he brought me toast and coffee in bed every morning also helped.
Was there a proposal? Tell us a little about it…
Ben proposed at one of our favourite spots down south at the “Bluff”. If you have been to the Bluff you would know that it is at the edge of a cliff, rocky, always very, very windy and is a very long drop to the water; an ideal location to get down on one knee.
Tell us about the vision you had for the mood or style of your wedding…
My vision when planning our wedding was always to be timeless and elegant. The colour scheme from the beginning was always going to be white, beige, and sandy tones.
I did want to bring in some sort of European vibes, so we chose to have the reception outside on the grass with a canopy of lights flowing over the top of us. We also used travertine stone as the table numbers and scattered across the table with candles to bring that European feel into the day also.
What was one element you were happy to splurge on?
Florals! I absolutely adore flowers, so this was something I was happy to spend a little extra on!
Did anything happen on your wedding day that you laugh about in hindsight (even if it was stressful at the time)?
There wasn’t too much that happened on the day that I can complain about. The day ran very smoothly! I do regret not eating enough of the cake and food, however! It was so good!
Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, is there a story?
I absolutely loved my ceremony dress! I always knew I wanted something very simple and timeless but also something that was extra. I changed out of the ceremony dress as soon as the photos were done into my reception dress which I had an absolute ball in it was so comfy.
