Modern Vintage Styled Shoot

This modern city wedding shoot incorporates classic, romantic details set in a modern city backdrop giving it a vintage twist that’s perfect for couples who want the best of both worlds.

The location for this wedding inspiration was no coincidence. The city of Nuremberg provided the perfect backdrop since it stands for the connection of old and new, of past and future like no other city in Germany.

On the one hand, the city features some of the world’s famous vintage heritages like the medieval imperial castle with the old town, the opera house, and impressive churches. On the other hand, you can also find high-rise buildings, art museums, and modern design hotels like the Adina Apartment Hotel — which is where the shoot took place.

Without losing sight of romantic details, the color scheme chosen for this styled shoot consisted of shades of Red, Pink & Pale Pink which are very classic colors for a wedding. However, because of the mix of colors and lack of green foliage, the overall style appeared very modern, bold, and stylish.

More than 500 roses – the flower that stands for a romantic love like no other – formed the wedding arch, hugging the two towers of Lorenzkirche (a famous and symbolic icon for the city of Nuremberg) in-between.

Vintage elements were incorporated in the stationery. Furthermore, the linen and scallop napkins brought a little old-fashioned, yet glamorous twist to the tablescape as well as the pearl-adorned tablecloth. Pearls were generally an important element – they even highlighted the stationery as well.

The bridal gown chosen was from Ari Villoso, a Ukrainian luxurious wedding line with a new high-quality approach to the creation of every dress.

Ari Villoso dresses are for courageous, sexy, and fashionable girls. Like the piece selected for the shoot – ABIGAIL from the CAPSULE collection – its statement and volant sleeves perfectly exemplify this.

Another inspiring spot used for the shoot was the “Marriage Carousel” (also called “Marriage Fountain”) – a large architectural fountain in Nuremberg’s pedestrian zone. The work of art was initially highly controversial because of the expressive figurative representations, which parts of the population and the press viewed as sometimes drastically vulgar but also because of the considerable budget overruns. The fountain is now considered one of the most important modern works of art in the city and a tourist attraction.
