Together Journal #40 Print

Ten years ago, we did more than launch a magazine. From New Zealand, a small, remote country with big ideas, we introduced a new vision for modern weddings that the world had never seen. From the outset, Together Journal’s pages looked and felt different: editorial, design-led and full of emotion, challenging conventions and redefining how love, fashion and celebration could be represented. We’ve fought hard to keep print alive in a world that insisted it was dead. Today, it feels more alive than ever.

What began with a core team of four, still proudly at the helm today, has grown into a global community with a devoted following. Along the way, there have been humbling and historic moments, from being contacted by Anthropologie in the United States after only three issues, to releasing a same-sex wedding cover nationwide in Australia and many states across the USA, well before marriage equality became law. Giving visibility early to couples who deserved to be seen remains one of our proudest achievements, which is why it feels so fitting that our ten-year celebration issue also features a same-sex cover.

From the start, our message has been clear: give all couples the freedom and courage to follow their hearts. Whether eloping barefoot, hosting a backyard celebration or planning a full-scale European destination wedding, our hope for couples has always been the same: make it your own. Modern weddings have become more personal, more expressive and more deeply woven into people’s lives than ever before, and we are proud to have been part of that shift.

This milestone also marks the beginning of our next chapter. Alongside the magazine and digital platform, we are launching the TJ Love Club and TJ Concierge, member-only platforms designed to inspire, guide and connect couples with the perfect vendors across the globe. We are also preparing to re-enter international markets, expanding our reach and continuing to raise the bar for design-led wedding media.

To honour this next phase, we have refreshed our look and refined details throughout the magazine. Inside, you will find new styling pages accompanying each wedding and ‘Wedding Vanguard’ interviews that spotlight emerging talents from around the world, the tastemakers who, like us, push boundaries and shape the future of weddings.

At the heart of Together Journal remains the beautiful real weddings that inspired us from the very beginning, told with authenticity and infused with design, lifestyle and creativity. Ten years is a milestone worth celebrating, but more than that, it proves the movement we began is still gathering momentum. In so many ways, it feels like we are only just getting started. Thank you to everyone who has supported us. It truly means the world.
