This Quiet Rebellion Shoot is for the fearless bride. She is a quiet rebel. Composed and confident. She is not afraid to be different and finds beauty in nature in all its seasons.
Taking inspiration from the autumnal and textural foliage of our beautiful coastal hometown of Whakatane, we created a set inside an abandoned warehouse next to Wairaka Falls. The bare white walls and exposed beams were the perfect backdrop for us to create our look.
Our team wanted to push the boundaries with our colour palette, moving past pastels, to bold orange, rust, iron dyed silks, and hand dyed linen, styled into a dramatic tablescape by The Heirloom.
In a hope to bring new ideas on colour and texture to future brides, make-up artist Pritah Firma went bold with orange lips and Bespoke Hair by Chloe complimented with hair that reflected the natural beauty of our models.
We wanted to show people its ok to to go for a colour palette that may not be fashionable or “in” at the time. With a bit of creativity and brainstorming the right team can work to make something beautiful that truly reflects the personality of their clients.
We were so lucky to be given gowns by Corina Snow, who trusted our vision and Kushla’s amazing ability to capture beauty in all its forms.
