My mom was visiting and we were having a late breakfast when he showed up and surprised me. I’m passionate about most things in life and, as a couple, we like to make decisions based on gut feeling rather than logic, a rule we applied to choosing our venue and my wedding dress. We were in Portugal, on our way to a friend’s wedding in Santorini, when we discovered the Areias Do Seixo Charm Hotel. We decided it was the one. The hotel was completely immersed in nature and it was evident that a lot of care had gone into the architecture. My dress was a similar story. Tony and I were in California and we found out that Vera Wang’s winter collection was launching in San Francisco, so I immediately drove to San Francisco and bought the dress on the spot, without looking at anything else. On the day of our wedding, nothing really went to plan but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. It was the best wedding I’ve ever been to. There is something magical about being in the right place with the right people and the right energy. Tony’s work requires him to travel a lot, which has worked out perfectly for our relationship because I love to travel and tag along with him wherever work may take him. Being married means having a home no matter where you are.
