Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship…
I’m a hairdresser at Baroque Hair and Stu is a builder we both work and live in harrogate North Yorkshire and have been together for a total of 9 years! What’s unique about us is we always make each other laugh everyday! We love doing new things together and seeing new places, we have travelled all over the world together. Stu purposed to me in Barcelona, we headed out for the day and then for a gorgeous meal later on something I will never forget.
Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details….               Â
We wanted a relaxed bohemian vibe, Something that all our guests would feel comfortable at. The setting was in the stunning countryside of Nidderdale North Yorkshire at Grassfield Hall. Grassfield is a stunning venue in the heart of Ndderdale with the most beautiful views of the the Yorkshire Hills. All my bridal party stayed in the bridal suit while the Groom party stayed in the other end of the house. All our close family and friends who had travelled far and wide to spend our special day with us were also able to stay in Grassfield Hall which made the wedding morning and day after extra special. We had planned our wedding ceremony outside but due to the typical English weather we moved our ceremony in to the beautiful petal pole marquee but this didn’t dampen our spirts. All ours vows were written by ourselves I felt this made the day more personal and extra special to us as a couple. We had also hired an ice cream van from our local town of Harrogate which served real Italian gelato!
Tell us about your main outfits:
My dress was from Ava rose Hamilton and was a two piece wedding dress and the bridesmaids dresses were from ASOS. I wanted to keep the bohemian style throughout the wedding keeping it relaxed so the colours of the dresses against my wedding dress and the suits worked perfectly.
What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day? Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
My favourite part of the day was when all the guests went outside after the ceremony all the guests gathered on the lawn for a confetti throw, which me and Stu ran through! Thankfully the rain had stopped! The most memorable moments were the speeches, I think when planning a wedding you don’t realise when it comes to the speeches how much people mean to you hearing them speak about you both really brings to life how much they mean to you.
Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together?    Â
Marriage to me is about spending the rest of your life with the person you love most. Someone who can make you laugh everyday and have fun with is your best friend. My advice would be to relax and enjoy the planning. Do what you want and what makes you happy.
