Renae + Curtis by Lovegood Images

I realized that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him when I understood his values and saw how important first impressions were to him when it came time to meet my parents. Nothing is more beautiful than seeing someone for who they are and how they act with those you love most.

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…

I’m an Executive Assistant who loves keeping fit and lifting heavy things. I have a passion for fashion and interiors. My husband is a tradesman who specializes in water damage work, he is also a mad football freak who also plays locally.

How/where/when did you meet–and what were your first impressions?

We were introduced from Tinder but fatefully met on my birthday one Saturday night out. I recognized him while I was waiting in line to go inside a club, waiting for my friend to come outside to get me in. I saw him getting out of a cab and I called out his name. The rest is history… you could say it was love at first sight as we were inseparable from that night onwards, obviously, first impressions were good.

Was there a proposal? Tell us a little about it…

There was! My husband and I organized a weekend away with friends down at Portarlington where I holidayed as a child. We had booked lunch at Jack Rabbit Winery. Curtis went to get me a drink at the bar and when he came back, he got down on one knee, the next thing I saw was my best friend arriving and surprising me too. We partied the night away back at the Airbnb–still one of the best weekends of my life.

Tell us about the vision you had for the mood or style of your wedding…

I wanted it to feel really ‘smooth’ on the eye. I love the contemporary feel of a vineyard, so I ensured we had lots of neutral colors with small pops of colors like pinks, enough not to draw your eye too. I wanted to feel modern and romantic but was conscious that our venue was quite rustic, that’s where our amazing stylist Bree came in. Bree really captured my vision and made the venue feel and look exactly how I wanted.

What was one element you were happy to splurge on?

Two things: Photography–this was important as you cherish these photos forever and you print and share with all of your loved ones. Also, the guest experience, entertainment & food. We wanted everyone to have the best time dancing and to always have a drink in hand.
