SOPHIE + VINCENT by Ash Muir - Together Journal

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship:

Vincent and I met when we were 16 and have been inseparable ever since – we’ve been together nearly half our lives!

It means we have grown up together and really always had each other to lean on. We have experienced most of life’s major milestones together – travel, buying a home, getting a dog. I love that we can look back on all of this and say we achieved it together. When we aren’t working on our home we love getting away and taking some time out together, life gets busy and it’s so important to do those things.

Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling, and some of your favourite details:

I wanted the day to be modern but romantic. We had the bridal party in black and they all looked amazing. Our florist did A LOT of styling work with the florals and it really made it what it was, I really wanted the flowers to pop and be one of the main features of the day and she did exactly that.

Tell us about your main outfits:

I wore the Made with Love Bridal ‘Georgie V2 gown’ – it was the dress of my dreams. I wanted a simple design but with a little something extra. I loved the low back and little bit of sparkle and it was perfectly me. Vincent wore a black suit and white shirt and looked amazing in it.

What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day?

The whole entire day! I had dad and mum both walk me down the aisle which was important to me. I had the best morning getting ready with the girls and we are so lucky to have such amazing friends. Vincent was so nervous about his speech but it went so well and was so special. I loved getting some sunset photos with Ash (our photographer) and it was lovely to have a few moments just to ourselves later in the night to take it all in, we were both so happy it almost felt surreal.

Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together?

Planning is key! Give yourself enough time and be organised, or get some help if you are not that way inclined. I feel like our day went so smoothly and perfectly because of our vendors and the fact that they had all worked together before. And of course, enjoy it and take it all in, people aren’t lying when they say it goes way too fast! And remember why you are getting married, don’t sweat the small stuff.
