We live in a time of re-imagining. Re-imagining marriage; re-imagining femininity; searching for an anchor in the past to keep us grounded and give us meaning in the ever-changing world, but yearning for the future.
So many of my brides want to bring elements of their pasts, their family traditions to their weddings but also want a style that is fresh and modern as they look for an original take on their age old rite of passage. This shoot was inspired by these ideas and this juxtaposition through the prism of contemporary Japan- playing with the traditions of marriage yet celebrating the antiquity and beauty of love in all its forms. Making the transition from girl to woman, our lovers embark on a whirlwind romance amongst the cherry blossoms. We hope your readers are as enchanted by this modern love story as we are.
