Before I knew it, Julian had walked over to me and kissed me – in the car park, rain and all!
At the lighthouse, Kanishk was standing there with the song “Harvest Moon” by Neil Young, my favourite song, playing in the background as he proposed.
During this time I think we both realised that it’s not every day you come by someone who you feel so comfortable and yourself with, and we eventually found our way back to each other.
It was a beautiful day, and as soon as we landed on the sand, he popped the question.
Before I knew it, we were down by the estuary, no one around & Shane got on one knee – my car sickness quickly changed to excitement & I was so so happy!!
But I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Austin when I realized that he simultaneously supports my dreams and helps me recognize and tackle the realities of life that might prevent me from achieving those dreams.
It was a real slow burn, not an ‘aha!’ moment for us, but we both knew there was something pretty special.
We loved the idea of an early autumn wedding, due to the amazing colours and stillness at that time of year.
Our lives have grown in a pretty similar direction, and we have really found a best friend and the biggest support person in each other.
We just got each other; we connected effortlessly, and it felt like we were meant to be.
Julia will say there was no one moment but rather a steady culmination of moments rendering life without Edward unimaginable.
