Brya and Rupert are effortless trendsetters. Michael discovered this beautiful pair upon photographing their friends wedding, of which they were in the bridal party. The minute I saw Brya, I loved her hair.
Inviting a minimalist and organic approach, Michael and I asked a team of vendors to give it all and hold one thing back. The richness of Brya’s hair colour is seen in the florals, ceramics and the stunning sunset beyond Waipatiki Beach of Hawke’s Bay. We wanted the beauty of an iconic Hawke’s Bay beach to speak for itself. Ghost chairs take nothing away from their environment and give everything back, they were iconic to this shoot.
The styling of the table was minimal and fit into its environment with florals that had an earthy focus. Modern ceramics were the perfect complement to warm linens and beautiful calligraphy by Rebecca of Panoply Studio. The dress by Sally Eagle was ethereal and simple, the same echoed in flawless hair and makeup by Candice Dear and Abby Schofield respectively.
But love always wins, and after all the detail shots, we saw Michael capture love in its simplest and most organic form. With the sun setting beyond the sea, as cliche as it may have been, I know it reminded us all exactly why we do what we do.
