Zoë & Morgan Song of the Sea

A beautifully considered ode to the ocean, memory and connection.

Zoë & Morgan’s latest collection drop, Song of the Sea, arrives as a beautifully considered ode to the ocean, memory and the enduring symbolism of shells. Rooted in the New Zealand jewellery house’s deep connection to nature and storytelling, the collection feels both emotionally resonant and quietly luxurious, continuing the brand’s long-standing ability to create jewellery that carries meaning far beyond adornment alone.

Inspired by the earliest forms of personal decoration, Song of the Sea revisits the historical significance of shells as objects tied to identity, spirituality and human connection. Across cultures and centuries, shells have symbolised transformation and protection, from Ancient Egyptian currency through to sacred rituals across Asia and the Pacific. Rather than approaching these references through nostalgia alone, founders Morgan, Zoë and Ruth reinterpret them through a distinctly contemporary lens, creating pieces that feel tactile, modern and deeply personal.

Oceanic references flow subtly throughout the collection. Conch shell symbolism anchors the Kailani pieces, seen across necklaces, earrings and bracelets, while the Shell Seeker Charm captures the familiar ritual of collecting tiny treasures from the shoreline and holding meaning close. Elsewhere, fluid forms in the Lulu Hoops and High Tide Ring mirror shifting tides and shoreline textures, while natural stones including White Topaz, Smokey Quartz, Rhodolite Garnet and Freshwater Pearl introduce softness, variation and light.

The collection feels particularly relevant within fashion’s current movement towards sentimentality and meaningful dressing. As consumers increasingly gravitate towards jewellery that feels lasting, layered and emotionally connected rather than overtly trend-driven, Song of the Sea speaks beautifully to that shift. These are pieces designed to evolve with the wearer and become part of a personal archive over time.

Our editor, Greta, recently visited the Zoë & Morgan boutique to experience the collection in person, selecting several treasured pieces to add to her own growing collection from the brand.

“As someone who has always felt deeply connected to the ocean, this collection resonated with me instantly,” says Greta. “There is such a beautiful sense of nostalgia woven through the pieces, but also a feeling of love, care and intention that Zoë & Morgan always captures so well. I have always loved wearing jewellery where you know the story behind the design, who created it and the thought process behind every detail. These are the kinds of pieces that quietly become part of your everyday life and hold meaning far beyond fashion alone.”

Reflecting on the inspiration behind the collection, Morgan notes, “The joy of finding a special shell is something that transcends borders and cultures.”

That quiet sense of wonder is what makes Song of the Sea feel so compelling. Thoughtful, textural and emotionally grounded, it is a collection that invites pause, reflection and a deeper appreciation for the beauty found in the natural world.
