Juliette Hogan NZFW 2025

Effortlessly cool, beautifully feminine and resolutely intelligent.

Juliette Hogan was one of our most anticipated shows of New Zealand Fashion Week for the brand’s elevated event wear, which exuded a quiet luxury mood, and she did not disappoint. Few designers stage a runway like Juliette; she understands pace, casting and atmosphere, and she fills a room with ease. What unfolded was a masterclass in drape and movement, a collection that balanced polish with the kind of unfussy, elevated practicality women actually want to wear. Drapey silks, matte chiffons and liquid satins skimmed the body without clinging, bias cuts traced soft lines, and tailoring arrived with just the right amount of structure.

The clothes had that rare quality of feeling effortless while looking impeccably considered, the kind of pieces you pull on and instantly feel like yourself, only sharper. The colour story was confident yet wholly wearable: muted orange, landscape greens and earthy mineral tones that felt grounded and modern. Signature prints, something the house is renowned for, were beautifully executed, offering both a warm, soft palette and a deeper, nature led option for women who prefer impact with restraint. Anchoring everything were timeless monochrome looks that will hold their place in a wardrobe for years.

What impressed most was the collection’s versatility. There were refined, formal pieces with enough romance for a modern bride who wants fashion rather than frippery, the sort of gown you could take from a city ceremony to a gallery dinner with a change of jewellery. The same silhouettes could be dressed down with a flat sandal for luxurious daywear or softened with a knit for the kind of lifestyle looks that define contemporary occasion dressing.

Nothing felt forced; everything felt considered. The styling underscored that ease. Hair and make up were polished but natural, allowing fabric and cut to lead. Accessories were minimal, proving that confident design needs little adornment. The footwear partner was Bared Footwear, who, like Juliette Hogan, understands the quiet luxury brief with elegant flats, elevated heels and chic boots that slipped seamlessly into the looks.

You could see the thought in proportion: elongated skirts paired with minimal bralettes and overshirts, perfect for honeymooners and chic lifestyle moments; fluid skirts with lean blazers; drapey dresses that moved like water. Every look earned its place. Juliette and her team know exactly what they are doing on and off the catwalk, which is why the brand has endured for nearly two decades, dressing notable New Zealanders as well as a devoted community of fashion-forward women across the regions.

The house codes are intact, yet there is no complacency; the work evolves with subtlety and care. Effortlessly cool, beautifully feminine and resolutely intelligent, these are immaculate clothes for women with full lives to live. In a week heavy with spectacle, this was the show that spoke the quietest yet resonated the most. It was a reminder that true luxury is not volume but finesse, something Juliette Hogan delivers in abundance.
