Myranda + Drew by Urška & Domen

The style we landed on was classic, organic, and textural.

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…

We’re Drew and Myranda — partners in creativity and in life, driven by curiosity and a passion for meaningful connection. Drew leads a boutique media production company, while Myranda brings stories to life through design and art direction. We love a good meal with our friends and family, slow mornings, and exploring new corners of the world. When we consider the great Mary Oliver’s question, “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” our answer is to always embrace every opportunity for growth, find the heart in every situation, and to support each other with kindness and compassion as we build our life together.

How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?

Our meet-cute was truly one for the books. We met at a music festival in Montana in 2020, surrounded by friends, family, and the energy of live music on a warm summer weekend. During our very first conversation, we realised we shared creative careers and that I (Myranda) was moving to Nashville soon, where Drew had just relocated. It was almost comical how much of our lives and interests lined up so perfectly. Over the weekend, we spent time floating the river, swing dancing, and sitting around the campfire while Drew played guitar. When that magical weekend ended, we stayed in touch, texting and talking on the phone every day until I arrived in Nashville three months later. Once we were in the same city, our love flourished, and the rest was history. We’ve been inseparable ever since.

Tell us about the vision you had for the mood and style of your wedding. (theme, key styling elements, florals, colour palettes etc.).

Before we thought about how we wanted our wedding to look, we talked about how we wanted it to feel. The words that immediately came to mind were joyful, relaxed, and intentional – and that foundation guided every decision we made throughout the planning process.

Since our venue was in Tuscany, the setting already held so much natural beauty. We wanted to honour that rather than overwhelm it, so our visual direction was all about enhancing what was already there. The style we landed on was classic, organic, and textural— a timeless black and white colour palette and sculptural florals create a vibe that felt effortless but refined. Having attended art school in Florence years before, I also drew a lot of inspiration from the city’s iconic museums, such as the Uffizi and Galleria dell’Accademia. This tribute to Italy’s rich art and history came to life through small stone statues and marble vases on the dinner tables, along with intaglio-inspired dinner menus that I handmade.

What styling and visual elements worked best for you? (could be things, the florals, particular hire products or your marquee, etc., something the stylist created or simply just the scenic beauty of your location or the existing design of your venue).

Something that took me by surprise, in the best way, was how beautiful our ceremony florals turned out. Our talented florist transformed the garden terrace by suspending individual calla lilies, creating a blooming canopy that surrounded us as we exchanged our vows. Though we had discussed adding flowers to the space, I was completely blown away by just how magical it turned out.

What did you enjoy most about the planning process, and do you have any tips for couples starting their wedding planning journey?

Planning a wedding internationally was definitely a big challenge, but it was absolutely worth it in the end. My best advice is to take your time and give yourself breaks when you need them—stepping away for even just a few days can bring so much clarity when you return to the details. Also, don’t hesitate to ask your vendors plenty of questions! If they’re a good fit for you, they won’t mind, and it’s always better to get all the information up front rather than discovering surprises after you’ve already made decisions and commitments. That being said, once you commit to a vendor, make sure you trust them. You picked them for a reason, and they are the experts!

Tell us about your vendors. Were there any standout suppliers you would like to make special mention of?

All of our vendors were wonderful, and we are so grateful to each and every person who helped bring our vision to life. Our photography team, Urska and Domen, went above and beyond. Having worked at the venue before, they provided invaluable insight into the flow of the day, insights on lighting and the best locations on-site for photos. Most importantly, we’re thrilled with how the photos turned out—they beautifully captured the spirit of our day and gave us memories we will cherish forever.

Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, and is there a story?

I knew I wanted a wedding dress that was truly unique, something I’d never seen before. When I found the Ophelia by Saint Bridal, I knew it was the one. A special detail that made it even more meaningful was the fabric rosette at the waist, since my middle name is Rose. Adding to the sentiment, my grandma and mom handmade a getting-ready robe for me, incorporating lace from both of their wedding dresses. It was one of the most thoughtful and cherished gifts I’ve ever received, and getting ready wrapped in that generational love was an incredibly special feeling. Drew had our wedding date embroidered inside his custom tux, which was also a very special detail.

Tell us about your wedding and engagement rings.

Knowing Florence’s reputation for exceptional goldsmithing, we decided to wait until we arrived in Italy to find our wedding bands. Just a few days before the wedding, before heading out to our venue in the Tuscan countryside, we spent the afternoon visiting gold shops in search of rings that felt just right. As the sun began to set and shops began to close, we finally found wedding bands we loved—just in the nick of time. Though it added one more task to an already full schedule, we couldn’t be happier that we chose to do it this way. We both love our wedding bands, and they are incredibly special to us and feel even more special knowing we chose them in Italy.

What were one or two elements that were most important to you both that you were happy to spend a little more on? (food, photography, florals, the venue, your outfits?).

We knew we wanted our dinner to have the feeling of an intimate dinner party, and we just love good food, so catering was something we were willing to spend a bit more on.

Was there a favourite moment (or two) that you will treasure always?

Drew – “I had some nerves while getting ready, but the moment I saw Myranda during our first look I felt completely at peace. That moment will be forever etched on my heart.”

The entire day exceeded all of our expectations, but one standout moment for us was when we were cutting the cake. The DJ had started playing music, we had just finished an amazing dinner, all the anticipation and stresses of the day had faded away, and we were just having the best time. It was a moment that felt so dreamlike, so free, and so happy.

Another noteworthy moment was when we had an impromptu  ‘open mic’ during our welcome dinner. So many of our closest friends and family members had the courage to share stories and memories and blessings, and it was totally unplanned, but it was the best way to end the night before the big day – with hearts so full.
