We loved the look of deep, rich red tones woven through the landscape.
Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…
We both work in eCommerce, Matt in sales, and I in marketing, so there’s always a bit of healthy tension in our house. Outside of work, we like to stay active. It’s a big part of how we reset and reconnect. We love starting our mornings at our favourite café in Tamarama and catching up with friends on the weekends.
We also love to travel, and a recent trip to New Zealand sums us up well. The first week was crammed with hikes and adventure, the second was slow mornings, no alarms and a little too much indulgence.
How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?
We met on Hinge. Very modern of us. Our first date was in the city and, in hindsight, we’ve since agreed it was far from romantic. I was mildly icked out by how deeply invested Matt was in the Ironman he was training for at the time. He saw no ick and instead thought I’d be into it. But despite that, there was an ease to it. We laughed a lot, and it felt comfortable in a way that wasn’t forced.
Not long into dating, I invited Matt away for my birthday weekend to meet all of my closest friends for the first time. That same morning, while out on a training ride, he was hit by a car and left a little bruised up. He still made the two-hour drive to meet everyone, though, which was a strong first impression to say the least!

What styling and visual elements worked best for you? (could be things, the florals, particular hire products or your marquee, etc., something the stylist created or simply just the scenic beauty of your location or the existing design of your venue).
Simplicity was incredibly important to us. Greyleigh is such a beautiful venue on its own, and we really wanted that to take centre stage. Every styling decision was made to complement the landscape rather than compete with it.
Because it’s a large property with multiple spaces where different parts of the day unfolded, it was important to us that everything felt visually cohesive. We loved the look of deep, rich red tones woven through the landscape to add a sense of romance and intimacy to the day.
We wanted to keep the styling minimal, relaxed and refined rather than overly elaborate. Flowers from the ceremony were repurposed inside the reception, and there were thoughtful touches like framed family photographs on a reserved chair for past family members, handwritten notes for all our guests, and subtle details that added meaning without overwhelming the space.
For us, it was about finding that balance of restraint and intention that made everything feel cohesive, romantic and deeply personal.
What did you enjoy most about the planning process, and do you have any tips for couples starting their wedding planning journey?
Leaning into the fun of it and celebrating the small things. There are naturally moments of stress, but we tried to acknowledge the little milestones along the way. Choosing our aisle song and picking the track to open the dance floor were the moments when it all started to feel real. We even half-jokingly acted out our aisle walk at home to see how it felt, and those simple moments ended up being some of our favourites.

It’s not often you get to gather everyone you love in one place, so we didn’t want to get too caught up and lose sight of that. We tried to make a conscious effort to keep our relationship at the centre of it all and focus on what felt like us. Music played a big part in setting the tone, and hearing those songs now takes us straight back. Our advice would be to stay connected, enjoy the process, and remember what you’re actually celebrating.

Tell us about your vendors. Were there any standout suppliers you would like to make special mention of?
We honestly cannot recommend our vendors enough. They were such a huge part of making the day what it was.
Our amazing photographer, Zoe, was everything we hoped for and more. We were really drawn to her romantic style and natural storytelling approach. She has this beautiful way of capturing moments as they unfold, without ever making anything feel staged. She was also just incredible to be around, making us feel so comfortable from start to finish. It truly felt like having a friend you’ve known for years taking our photos.
We also had Kayla from Social Romances as our content creator, and she was amazing. She captured so many in-the-moment snippets throughout the day, which meant we were able to see everything almost instantly. Between the two of them, nothing was missed.
Our music vendors, Elle and Mitch from Oberon Lane, along with Tommy, our DJ, were just the best. They created such an incredible atmosphere from start to finish and read the room so well. We’ve had so many compliments about the music since.
And finally, our amazing coordinator, Elizabeth and all of the Greyleigh staff. The day simply would not have happened without them. They kept everything on track behind the scenes and were so kind and thoughtful the whole way through.
Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, and is there a story?
I knew early on that I’d feel overwhelmed if I looked at too many dresses, so I limited myself to three boutiques. I’d had such a great experience at Kyha for a friend’s wedding and, as it turned out, my dress was the very first one I tried on there. It had a clean silhouette with an off-the-shoulder neckline that felt timeless and feminine. More than anything, I just felt like myself in it.
I went back and forth about whether to have a second dress. Matt loves to dance, and I didn’t want to feel restricted once the party started, so I’m really glad I changed because the night got pretty rowdy.
My second look was a shorter dress with a deep V neckline. It was comfortable on the dance floor and, as it turned out, perfect for ending up on people’s shoulders.
Matt’s process was far more straightforward. He was whisked away to P Johnson in Paddington for his tux and, from what I heard, it was a quick visit with a few too many Negronis along the way!

Tell us about your wedding and engagement rings.
Matt designed the engagement ring himself, which makes it feel even more special to me. He had been paying attention to the little details and references I’d mentioned over time, and even traced the inside of a ring I wore to try to guess my size without giving anything away. He worked closely with a jeweller to bring it to life, and then carried the ring all the way to Ireland to propose, knowing it meant I would be close to family and able to celebrate with them afterwards.
For our wedding bands, we chose something simple and timeless. We went back to the same jeweller to create rings that feel natural and easy to wear every day.
What were one or two elements that were most important to you both that you were happy to spend a little more on? (food, photography, florals, the venue, your outfits?).
Easy photography, music and food. Everyone tells you how fast the day goes, and it really does. It was so important to us to have not just the big moments captured, but the in-between ones too. The unposed interactions, the hugs, the laughter, the movement. I wanted photos that would actually bring us back to how it felt, and more importantly, capture the people who mean so much to us, because those pictures with loved ones only become more valuable over time.
Music was also huge for us. It completely shaped the vibe of the day. From the ceremony through to the dance floor, it set the tone. We wanted it to feel intimate, but also like a really good house party and both our DJ Tommy and our Elle and Mitch from Oberon lane were SO incredible at reading the room and building that energy.
And then food.. because food just matters. Making sure everyone was well fed and well watered was non-negotiable. It’s what keeps people mingling, talking and staying on the dance floor. Good food and good music really are the heart of it all.

Was there a favourite moment (or two) that you will treasure always?
Our vows will always be one of the most special parts of the day. It honestly felt like a rollercoaster of emotions. There were so many tears, but just as much laughter.
Our reception entrance is right up there, too. We have the most incredible friends and family who showed up for us in the biggest way. From the moment we walked in, it was straight to the dance floor. Tambourines, flowers flying everywhere, people jumping, hugging, yelling. They really brought the energy and set the tone for the entire night. It was chaotic and completely unforgettable.
What does being married mean to you, and are there any special rituals you have that you would like to share?
Marriage for us is choosing each other on the messy days and finding humour when things feel heavy. We’ve faced a couple of difficult and deeply personal moments that have tested us in ways we didn’t expect, and those moments have ultimately confirmed that there is no one else we would want to move through uncertainty with.
In terms of rituals, we don’t have any specific ones. It’s more in the small, everyday things. Checking in on each other.
Laughing when we probably shouldn’t. Remembering that we’re always on the same team and making time for coffee dates or long walks when we need to talk things through.
