Anthony + Daniela by Bek Smith

Anthony- I’m a chiropractor and personal trainer who runs clinics in Melbourne. I enjoy playing sports and keeping fit. Daniela– I’ve loved to draw since childhood and now have my own business as a fashion illustrator. I love all things creative and fashion.

Anthony and I met in 2017 at my previous workplace. My first impression of him was that he was intelligent, thoughtful and kind. When we started dating, I realised he knew how to make every moment and experience together so memorable, fun and adventurous.

He organised a surprise helicopter ride for our anniversary. As I was getting out of the helicopter, he proposed to me on one knee. He’d also organised a surprise intimate family lunch at Zonzo Estate Winery.

Due to Melbourne’s lockdowns, the whole lead-up to the wedding was extremely stressful and surreal. We weren’t sure if it would be able to go ahead, and had to organise it within two weeks. Looking back we laugh, but at the time, we lost a lot of sleep. With all the help and support of our family and friends, we managed to turn things around so quickly!

I hadn’t seen my wedding dress designer since the start of the year, but Sam from Oglia-Loro did an impeccable job and I am so grateful that they were able to turn things around so quickly with multiple fittings. My vision was for it to be modern, soft and edgy, with all things tulle.
Sam and I worked together to bring this custom wedding dress dream to life,
Anthony’s fitted suit complemented my wedding dress perfectly.

We wanted our wedding to be classy, chic and most of all fun! Being an illustrator, I wanted to incorporate a personal touch, designing our placecard menus and backdrop.
Every detail was considered. I chose the soft grey linen to complement the roses at our venue.
Our custom illustrated acrylic backdrop turned out to be a huge success, more than I expected.
It added a special element to our wedding and all our guest’s photos,
coming straight out of lockdown restrictions in Melbourne, we wanted our guests to have a blast!

We both come from a Lebanese background so we love our dancing and music. Zaffet Royale created
an atmosphere like no other. We also had the amazing Ashley James (saxophonist) entertain the
guests throughout the night. We organised gold confetti during his incredible performance,
which was definitely a highlight.
