Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship:
Arna: Kyle and I met 10 years ago in London on set when Kyle was filming his music video and I was performing fire – not your traditional way of meeting, and it has been an adventure ever since.
We are both keen boxers, enjoy meeting new people, good food and good wine and love to travel. Kyle popped the question back in 2016 in Ha Long bay on our world travels and we tied the knot in 2018 back in the UK. We ventured back to NZ in December 2019 to try something new, start a new career and to celebrate our wedding with friends and family in the southern hemisphere.
Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details:
Our day started at our hotel where we got ready and ventured through the alleyways of Wellington creating and capturing some of the most memorable moments. We then travelled to BoomRock to meet our guests. Our celebration was simple, small but sweet. Golf and Clay bird shooting kept everyone entertained and on their toes with competitiveness. We broke away from the traditional layout and had a banquet style evening with a family-style meal where everyone helped themselves, with cheese and cupcakes for dessert. Our first dance song was performed by friends of ours who used to be in a band. They also led an acoustic jam-session which lasted until the end of the night. The perfect end to a perfect day.
Tell us about your main outfits:
Arna wore a modern White by Vera Wang crepe sheath gown – embellished with symmetrical lace appliques and features an on-trend halter neckline. The button-detailed, bra-style back is a quintessential Vera Wang design element.
Kyle wore a blue men’s 3 piece suit from Ted Baker, with a classic white shirt, Hugo Boss belt and Paul Smith Cufflinks to add colour.
What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day?
Arna: One of the most unique details of the day was knowing that I was 12 weeks pregnant, and we tied the knot with the joy that we would soon be parents. We loved watching the sunset over the Tasman Sea with those close to us, roaming through the grassy terrain during our photoshoot and having a jam-session with everyone at the end of the night.
Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together?
It’s all about you and spending time with your loved ones, so relax, enjoy and keep it simple. You don’t need to have all the bells and whistles to make your day special, the memories are what you’ll look back on and enjoy. Take it all in as the day will go by so fast; so breathe, take a step back and enjoy every moment!
