JF – My name is Joseph, I’m 27 and I’m a locksmith of 8 years, I love cooking, games and eating yummy Italian food
How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?
AF- We first meet back in 2013 when I started working at a local restaurant called the Lighthouse he was a chef and I was employed as a waitress. My first impressions of him were his amazing energy, the way he went out of his way to say hello and his smile would instantly make me feel happy.
JF- My first impressions of Ashleigh was the way she would always look and the smell of her perfume.
When did you first realise that this was someone you’d like to spend the rest of your life with?
AF- I knew instantly that Joseph was someone that I wanted to spend all my time with by the way he made me feel. Whenever I was with him I would feel like I was home.
JF- I knew not long after the first exchange of I love you had been shared.
Was there a proposal? Tell us a little about it…
AF/JF We we’re on holidays and decided to have lunch at the lighthouse on the 11th of July 2019. Ashleigh was super sick and didn’t feel like going, we eventually got there and had lunch. Joseph was acting a little weird but I didn’t think anything of it. I told Joseph I wanted to go home because I still wasn’t feeling well but he insisted on going for a walk. We went for a walk and we were hugging looking out at the ocean I turned around and he gave me a ring as a present and I looked at it further and on the inside it had engraved will you marry me, while I was reading it he was down on one knee with an engagement ring. He had also organised his sister to be there in the background to take photos of the magical moment.
Tell us about the vision you had for the mood or style of your wedding…
AF – I always envisioned on having an elegant country style wedding. Simple, sophisticated and romantic.
What was one element you were happy to splurge on?
AF – photographer and venue. I’m so glad we decided on splurging on those two things we have amazing memories that were captured exactly how we envisioned (romantic, intimate, natural and creative) and the venue was extremely magical.
Did anything happen on your wedding day that you laugh about in hindsight (even if it was stressful at the time)?
AF- I had ordered biodegradable rose petal confetti. I had asked my husband and some of our friends to talk it down before the ceremony so our guest had some to throw. It happened to be a windy day and while they were setting up the ceremony half the basket of confetti had flown away 🙂 everyone was saying they were frantically trying to save them. Even though that happened it was more funny then stressful.
Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, is there a story?
AF- When going to my first fitting I hadn’t really envisioned anything in particular. I had my maid of honour and my mum with me. Each had picked one outfit for me to try. I had five to try on and the first dress I tried on I absolutely loved!! I had finished my fitting and decided I loved the first dress. What was so special was that my mum had chosen the first dress. In terms of my husbands outfit we had gone to a place where most of our friends had ordered there’s from, I showed the attendant my dress and he straight away said we should do something like linen. Which I loved because no one had ever done that before.
