Last night, Carla Zampatti unveiled its Resort ’25 collection.
The brand took centre stage at the opening night runway show at Australian Fashion Week in Sydney under the guidance of new creative director Karlie Ungar. This marks the label’s return after four years.
The models graced the Carla Zampatti Runway, a homage to the late designer, who passed away in April 2021. The showcase ensembles exuded sophistication, transcending typical resort wear. The silhouettes were defined, strong and powerful.
Sheer fabrics were skillfully layered, revealing gauzy skirts beneath long belted vests in a seamless display of sartorial finesse.
From the ethereal layering of soft tulles to the graceful silhouettes of floor-skimming gowns, enhanced by a palette of shimmering golds and creams, several special pieces radiated bridal allure. And many more pieces would be perfect for wedding guests and reception outfits.
Our personal favourite gown was the sheer blue floor-length silk chiffon piece, perfect for a fashion-forward bride seeking to diverge from the conventional white or cream.
The brand showed its mastery of textural layering and precision tailoring, demonstrating a profound understanding of fabric manipulation to convey a narrative. This collection eloquently communicated the exceptional skill embedded within its design team.
The hair and makeup feel perfectly in line with a sleek and bold aesthetic, complementing the collection impeccably.
A mix of sophisticated styles were shown, and many would suit weddings and occasions of all types.
After a four-year absence, the brand’s triumphant return not only exceeded expectations but also undoubtedly honoured its founder’s legacy.
