I started my first floral series in 2014. I hadn’t intended on photographing florals that day but Claire, from One Lovely Day, turned up with these beautiful flowers and my floral passion stemmed from there (pun intended).
Again, my dark floral series was not something I intended to create but I was inspired by flowers Botanist one day and ended up working on this series for the next few days in the studio. I had a lot of other work on at the time but I was so excited, I put them on hold and decided to play with flowers while drinking red wine instead. I loved it!
I created my Tulip series after the arrival of my daughter. Life was pretty chaotic at the time and I wanted to create something simplistic. I also love the way these have a dreamy quality to them – I feel like it mirrors the sleep deprivation I was feeling at the time.
My Metallic series was inspired by a Marc Jacobs documentary I watched where he used a lot of gold. I Particulary love the unusual black sunflowers and the beautiful Peonies from Holland.
My new Miller Rose series is dedicated to my daughter, Miller Rose. It’s a blush rose limited edition series that I think is classic and timeless. I also wanted it to have a little bit of an edge – something unexpected. I think it’s something she’ll really enjoy when she’s older.
