Caroline + Fabio by Yannick Zurflüh

Caroline -Fabio and I live in St. Gallen, Switzerland. I work as a consultant in an advertising agency and Fabio works for a big train manufacturer. We love the outdoors, travelling, food and wine and I have an obsession with interiors and beautiful things.

We balance each other out. Fabio is outgoing and I’m more withdrawn, but we push each other to be the best versions of ourselves. We really enjoy sharing our lives with each other, even though it hasn’t always been easy — the ups and downs have bonded us. I love Fabio not only for who he is, but also for who I am when I’m with him.

We met when mutual friends tried to set us up in 2013 but we didn’t like each other at first. But we saw each other again and again and at the beginning of 2014 we had our first date at an antique fair. That was the beginning of our love story.

Fabio -After a few months,I just knew that Caroline was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. That’s why, after only a year, I proposed to her at our home after a romantic dinner. We still have the rug on which I asked her to marry me — we just can’t part with it, even though we don’t like it anymore.

For Caroline, it was clear from the beginning that the two of us would get married in New Zealand, because she had lost her heart to this country on a previous visit. We planned a big trip but unfortunately everything changed due to Covid.

Caroline -When we realised that New Zealand would not work out, we decided to get married in our hideaway on the Alpe di Siusi in the Dolomites. We have been there several times and just fell in love with the place. It was such a dream come true for us to celebrate our special day there with those closest to us.

I love clean looks and designs and that’s what I wanted for my wedding. A cool and modern style with a touch of romantic elements. White elegance with beige tones, to complement the beautiful nature surrounding us. I always knew I didn’t want a traditional wedding dress. So I looked for a store that offered cool, minimalist and modern dresses and went all the way to Germany to lieben.achten.ehren and it was so worth it! In the most romantic location for a store — a castle — I found my dream look. A two-piece from By Romance and akimono from Aylin Koenig. I fell in love with a veil with daisies, which symbolise loyalty and trust and gave me the romantic touch I was looking for. Because there were only six of us at our wedding, we were able to make the day whatever we wanted and had zero stress. I’m very grateful. There were so many moments full of joy.
