Curves & Contrast Styled Editorial

A bold yet graceful expression of modern wedding design—where form meets feeling, and history is reimagined through a fashion-forward lens.

In this striking editorial set within the storied surrounds of The Hill House—a 1911 Spanish Colonial Revival mansion—design and storytelling intertwine to create a highly curated celebration of modern romance. At the heart of the concept was an innovative serpentine “S” table arrangement, a sculptural form designed to foster intimacy and conversation. With twelve place settings elegantly tracing its outer curves, the table became more than functional—it was a central design feature, fluidly integrated into the surrounding floral installations for a seamless, immersive aesthetic.

Deliberately chosen textures and tones established a refined yet contemporary palette: Verona Shell linens and napkins, Wishbone chairs, Hudson dinner plates, Nova glassware, and Deco flatware formed a sophisticated foundation. Menus adorned with tassels echoed the terracotta roof tiles of the estate, creating a considered design narrative that paid homage to the venue’s architectural details.

A celebration of contrasts underscored the creative direction—frazzled foliage and elongated blooms were artfully paired with blush-hued drapery, creating a dialogue between wildness and restraint. Embellishment was balanced with architectural simplicity, while flowing silks and a champagne tower added a playful, cinematic elegance.

The Hill House itself played a vital role in shaping the visual identity of the shoot. With its stucco façade, red tile roof, and preserved interiors—including original bronze wallpaper and characterful paintings—its heritage elements subtly grounded the contemporary styling in place and history.

Noteworthy details included the serpentine reception table, custom lace table numbers, sculptural floral installations, dual cakes, and a ceremony and reception space layered in soft, romantic draping. Captured on a blend of 35mm film and digital photography, the gallery is rich with texture, nuance, and a timeless quality that speaks to both past and present.
