Costa Brava Days

An intimate Costa Brava elopement finds beauty in unhurried moments, Mediterranean light and understated romance.

An intimate elopement on Spain’s Costa Brava, with a vintage car, an unhurried afternoon by the sea and a bridal wardrobe made for the Mediterranean breeze. This romantic, softly styled shoot by The House of Archive finds its charm in the smaller moments, with a distinctly European sensibility.

The story begins at Finca Mas Bou, where models Marta Pons and Thorben, portraying a Spanish bride and German groom, get ready together. It’s a lovely departure from the traditional wedding-day ritual of keeping the couple apart, allowing for a quieter, more personal beginning to the celebrations.

From there, a vintage car by JG Classics takes the couple along the Costa Brava coastline for a Spanish picnic overlooking the Balearic Sea. The setting is wonderfully simple, with the landscape, natural light and relaxed styling providing everything needed for a romantic afternoon.

Bridal fashion comes courtesy of Spanish label IMMACLÉ, whose gown, veil and shoes feel entirely at home in the coastal setting. The fluid silhouette and delicate movement of the fabric bring softness to the look, while the veil catches the sea breeze beautifully. It’s a lovely example of bridal dressing that feels considered without being overly formal, allowing the wearer and the surroundings to remain part of the story.

As the day moves towards evening, the setting shifts to the beach for an intimate dinner. Florals by La Guinda introduce gentle colour and texture, complemented by ocean-inspired details and tableware from Ã’pera Lloguers. The vintage influences are subtle, with a soft palette and natural materials creating a sense of warmth rather than nostalgia.

Photographed by Merle Blümer, the shoot offers a particularly appealing approach to an intimate destination celebration. There’s no need for an elaborate production when the location is this good, the fashion feels right, and the pleasure of spending a day together is at the heart of the story.
