Superbloom

California’s fleeting superbloom inspires a surreal bridal editorial where wild landscapes meet modern romance.

This editorial captures the fleeting magic of the California Superbloom—a rare desert phenomenon where scorched, dormant earth erupts into colour. Exploring the idea of surrealism and desert mirages, the styling pairs airy, blousy bridal silhouettes with glowy make-up and soft, sheer bridal veils with a touch of American Gothic style lace and modern printed tulle.

A floral installation of smokebush provided structure with smaller yellow and purple blooms representing the California hills, alongside a table design with unusual details like mirrors and chrome to evoke a heady, mirage-like scene and capture the contrast between the dry landscape and the resilience of nature.

This shoot showcases how intentional details and some stand-out floral moments can transform an outdoor wedding and work with the natural landscape for a curated, unique celebration.
