Erin + Dwayne by Emma Macaulay

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…

E: Dwayne and I live in Perth, Western Australia and are fun loving, easy going, family loving humans. We are a family of 3, with the love of our lives being our fur-baby Hugo.

We both love to keep busy, exercise, cook and spend time with family and friends (and Hugo). Whenever we can, and when we’re not living in a pandemic, we love to travel.

How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?

E: We met during the Easter holidays 2016 at a bar in Dwayne’s home town of Albany. I was 3 weeks post hip surgery and saw this cute guy walk through the door. I asked my GF (one of my BM’s) to do something, so she threw an ice-block at him… We exchanged numbers and the rest was history 

When did you first realise that this was someone you’d like to spend the rest of your life with?

E: On our first few dates. It was very soon that I (and Dwayne) realised our lives and interests (Family, friends, travel etc) were very similar.

Was there a proposal? Tell us a little about it…

E: We were snowboarding in Niseko, Japan in Feb 2020. Dwayne dragged me up the mountain (I was a little hungover) into an off-piste area for a group photo with friends, where Dwayne dropped to one knee and proposed. I said YES. It was unbelievably romantic and my hangover all of a sudden disappeared.

Tell us about the vision you had for the mood or style of your wedding…

E: Originally, I was happy with getting married at a hall with food, booze and music! Dwayne insisted we have the big wedding at a beautiful venue. So we both decided on Meelup Farmhouse and Dwayne was happy for me to take carriage of the mood/styling. I would say our styling was ‘Modern elegance with a pop of colour’. It was just perfect!

What was one element you were happy to splurge on?

If needed, we were both happy with spending more on photography/videography.

Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, is there a story?

No real story, however I had a ‘party dress’ so I could rip it up on the D-floor. This made it easier to do the worm with my MOH and stack it with another BM during ‘Horses’.
