Erin + Jeff by Frankie Gomez

“We said our goodbyes on Sunday and promised to see each other again soon with no real plan. I made it back to Charleston that evening and texted Jeff to see when he was heading out to Missouri. Low and behold a few hours later, there Jeff was on my doorstep. He drove two hours in the opposite direction to see me again before leaving and that was it.”

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…

I’m more of the blue collar type being an electrician by day. I love spending my time working on our Harleys with Erin and going for rides through the Texas Hill country. – Jeff

I always find it a little difficult to put myself into one ‘box’ or quick sentence. I’ve moved around a lot before meeting Jeff and even after meeting Jeff. I’ve been so lucky to do what I love and handle marketing for badass brands my career thus far – which has moved me around so much. Jeff and our 3 dogs are my world; when we’re not going hiking or camping as a family, we’re on our bikes. They’re the best support system I could ask for. – Erin

How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?

Jeff and I met in Charleston, SC back in 2020, where I was living at the time. He was out visiting friends after delivering a motorcycle in a nearby city and ended up spending almost a week there. One night, we ended up meeting each other at my local watering hole (right place at the right time) after riding in with our friends. It didn’t take long for us to decide to separate from our friends and spend some time alone together. I took him to see some of my favorite spots in the city (I might have got us a little lost at times, there’s a lot of tiny one-way streets) but we have been inseparable ever since. I moved to Missouri with him about a month after we met and ended up moving him to Austin a few months later. Now we’re buying our first home together! – Erin

My first impression of Erin was that she’s drop dead gorgeous and rides a motorcycle!  After getting to know her better I knew she was someone very special that I wanted to spend more time with. -Jeff

When did you first realise that this was someone you’d like to spend the rest of your life with?

Erin took me to a secluded beach spot that overlooked a lighthouse in the bay. We sat on drift wood and watched the sunset together. I know that sounds like a damn hallmark story but that was the night I fell in love with her. -Jeff

About a week after meeting, we took a trip up to Swansea, SC with one of his friends to stay on his property for a long weekend and had one of the best weekends of my life. We said our goodbyes on Sunday and promised to see each other again soon with no real plan. I made it back to Charleston that evening and texted Jeff to see when he was heading out to Missouri. Low and behold a few hours later, there Jeff was on my doorstep. He drove two hours in the opposite direction to see me again before leaving and that was it. – Erin

Was there a proposal? Tell us a little about it…

We were having a pool day at the house and it seemed like no better time than now to propose. I went inside with our blue tick coon hound, Luca, and placed the ring on her collar. I went outside and dropped to one knee and told Erin to look at Lucas’ collar. She didn’t see it at first, but eventually caught on and we both broke down crying with happiness. -Jeff

Tell us about the vision you had for the mood or style of your wedding…

My vision was The Great Gatsby meets western desert. Which makes no sense, but I think it ended up working out! We’re both very western in style, but I wanted to bring in a subtle touch of elegance and the Great Gatsby house parties just seemed to fit us. – Erin

What was one element you were happy to splurge on?

Definitely our venue. We both loved Sedona and wanted to keep our day as intimate and special as possible.- Erin

Did anything happen on your wedding day that you laugh about in hindsight (even if it was stressful at the time)?

So… I spent SO much time on making DIY dried flower arrangements (like weeks..) and I was so proud of them. It ended up being super windy in the afternoon during our setup time and only 1/8 of the arrangements that I made ended up being set out. It made our setup very simple, but looking back on it.. I love it. Noone would have noticed them anyways with the backdrop of Sedona. I was stressed at the time, but who remembers flower arrangements? – Erin

Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, is there a story?

I bought Jeff, his brothers, my dad and our officiant (Jeff’s uncle) fishing licenses so they could go fishing the morning of our wedding while us ladies set up everything. Jeff would’ve worn his waders in our wedding if I would’ve let him! But, there’s nothing super special about our outfits at the end of the day. We both wore our same fits for the ceremony throughout our reception to keep it simple. I loved my dress so much, I wanted as much time in it as possible. – Erin
