Graff Butterfly takes flight in Auckland
CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF AN ICON AND A NEW BOUTIQUE OPENING ON QUEEN STREET
Graff has arrived in New Zealand in partnership with iconic local jewellery house Partridge Jewellers, unveiling its first boutique on Queen Street, Auckland. This new opening marks the latest addition to Partridge’s impressive portfolio of prestigious global brands and further solidifies its standing as the country’s leading authority and destination for elevated, world-class jewels and timepieces.

The launch coincides with the 50th anniversary of Graff’s iconic Butterfly motif, a fitting celebration of both legacy and new beginnings. Together Journal founder and editor Greta Kenyon attended the boutique’s opening and described the event as nothing short of spectacular. The boutique itself is exquisitely appointed, offering a modern yet timeless expression of Graff’s design ethos, with subtle nods to the house’s 1960s heritage.
This refined space now invites New Zealanders and visitors alike to immerse themselves in the world of Graff, a house celebrated for crafting some of the most exceptional jewels ever discovered. From its architectural elegance to the luminous displays, every element of the boutique has been carefully considered to reflect Graff’s mastery and vision.

To mark this milestone, Graff has unveiled a new high jewellery collection inspired by the Butterfly motif, first introduced in 1975. Long associated with transformation, freedom and enduring beauty, the butterfly is brought to life in exquisite creations that appear to capture the delicate creature mid-flight.
A highlight of the collection is a high-jewellery necklace featuring a 5.04-carat emerald-cut diamond, surrounded by a cascade of butterflies set in more than 57 carats of snow-set pavé emeralds. The suite also includes pavé diamond bracelets, earrings and necklaces totalling over 80 carats, each handcrafted at the Graff atelier in London using meticulous techniques that ensure brilliance, movement and light.

Francois Graff, CEO of Graff, reflected that the Butterfly’s evolution speaks to the house’s constant transformation and its commitment to redefining what is possible in the world of high jewellery.
With over 70 boutiques globally, Graff continues to lead with artistry and innovation. Its arrival in New Zealand, through its exclusive partnership with Partridge Jewellers, is a landmark moment for local jewellery connoisseurs and couples alike. This is a chance to experience the exceptional up close and be part of a legacy that continues to inspire.

The Graff story began in London in 1960, when founder Laurence Graff OBE established the house with a singular vision: to pursue perfection in every detail, and to honour the emotional power of gemstones. Over six decades later, that vision continues to shape every facet of the brand. From sourcing the rarest rough diamonds to cutting, polishing and setting them, Graff is one of the only houses in the world to oversee each step of the process in-house.
This meticulous approach has earned Graff an unmatched reputation. The house has handled some of history’s most significant diamonds, including the 302.37 carat Graff Lesedi La Rona, the Graff Pink, and the Graff Venus. Each stone is chosen for its rarity, beauty and potential to move the wearer, then transformed into heirlooms of exquisite power and precision.

What sets Graff apart is not only the calibre of its diamonds but the deeply personal philosophy that underpins its design. Every piece is conceived to celebrate the individuality of the stone, brought to life through cutting-edge innovation and time-honoured artistry. This results in creations that are timeless yet entirely unique, offering enduring value to those who wear them.
For lovers of beauty, and for those seeking a modern heirloom that speaks to craftsmanship and character, Graff’s arrival represents more than just a new boutique. It signals a new era of elevated jewellery in New Zealand, guided by a legacy six decades in the making.
