New to Father Rabbit Select is Wellington-based Hivern. Inspired by the inextricable link between scent and memory, co-founders and spouses Tamara and Christopher Tubbs have developed a range of 100% hand poured Soy candles and diffusers that come with a curated playlist inspired by the origin of the perfume.
Both Tamara and Christopher have spent the last 20 years travelling the world. Christopher, spending summers in Ibiza DJing and Tamara while working in London and Paris as a fashion buyer. Finding inspiration from travel, six unique scents recall their favourite places.
“For us, lighting a candle and listening to music is a very special and personal pleasure,” says Christopher. “Sometimes it’s the simple things that positively transform our spaces and moods and act as a reminder to slow down and be present in these moments”
Each scent is designed to take you on a journey, Tuberose & Bergamot is the smell of a summer’s garden picnic at the family home on the Eastbourne coast while Fig & Pomelo is reminiscent of the smell of halved figs and Bellinisby the pool, after a wedding in Ibiza.
Hivern is the Catalan word for ‘Winter’, which parents, partners and co-founders Tamara and Christopher Tubbs associate with being tucked away at home with their two boys: Sebastian, 9 and Harvey, 4. Their drive to translate memories and emotions into products and experiences led them to develop Hivern, a considered scent brand that celebrates memory through the ritual of scent and music.
