Imogen + Brendon by Muse Photography

“Till the sky meets the sea” which is not a quote I had said to Brendon but when I heard it, given how much we love the ocean, it made me instantly think of my love for him and how it will never die despite life’s challenges. So I had it embroidered onto my veil and explained it to Brendon in my vows…

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…

We are a 26 year old couple from the Hunter Valley NSW. My Husband is an Electrician, we have our own business in doing that and I am a Medical Receptionist for an Obstetrician. We spend most of our time when we aren’t doing business things, at the beach, Camping and on our Jet ski.

How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?

We met in school at the age of 10, we were each other’s high school sweethearts, we dated in year 8 at the age of 14 for a few short but sweet high school months. We had the same group of friends growing up and eventually rekindled things after we’d left school at the age of 22, from then we didn’t take things slow and moved in together just 1 month after we made things official.

When did you first realise that this was someone you’d like to spend the rest of your life with?

As soon as we rekindled things later in life. Given that I had known Brendon for so long and we were such good friends, it wasn’t love at  first site but as soon as I realised I had feelings for him, it was love from then on and I’m pretty sure I could speak for him and say the same thing.

Was there a proposal? Tell us a little about it…

Brendon proposed to me on the 18th July 2020, in the morning in our home that wed built together only 12 months prior, we were getting ready to go away for the weekend to our favourite place in the world, Blueys Beach which he had planned to do it there, however his nerves took over and he “didn’t want to wait another minute” and did it in our home and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect moment.

Tell us about the vision you had for the mood or style of your wedding…

The vision for our wedding speaks through the pictures that our amazing photographer took, Muse Photography. Everything I had envisioned for the day was executed and you can really see that from the pictures.

What was one element you were happy to splurge on?

MY DRESS! Our Photographer and Videographer annnndd alcohol so we could party!

Did anything happen on your wedding day that you laugh about in hindsight (even if it was stressful at the time)?

Brendon got bright red lipstick on his suit jacket just as I was about to walk down the aisle from his aunt, I had no idea about it, but he speaks of that moment in full terror! He said it was a terrible moment and he was almost in tears as he knows the vision I had and if it weren’t perfect, he would have known straight away I wasn’t happy about it. However, he removed the stain (I have no idea how) before I walked down, and I was none the wiser!

Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, is there a story?

My dress in its self is unlike a dress I have seen in recent styles, however I had a personalised veil. As seen in the pictures. I had some embroidery on the end of it saying “till the sky meets the sea” which is never a quote I had said to Brendon but when I heard it, given how much we love the ocean, it made me instantly think of my love for him and how it will never die despite life’s challenges. So I had it embroidered onto my veil and explained it to Brendon in my vows as follows, “I have a favourite quote I have always associated with today and that is ‘till the sky meets the sea’ and that is because I will not only love you until death do us part, or for only the rest of our days, but I will love you in this life, the next life and all of our lives to come”.
