Nick and I come from diverse backgrounds. I was born in the Philippines, and moved to Sydney at the end of secondary school. Nick was born in Sydney, and his father is Lebanese and his mother is French and Spanish.Â
The world that we are living in today is almost entirely different to that of two years ago and during that time, weddings and celebrations have adapted and evolved to suit, although not without it’s challenges. So we thought it was about time that we sat down with some of our leading wedding brands to get their perspectives as well as a few pieces of advice for couples currently planning their weddings.
We fell in love by complete chance, and now we’re the best of friends. Sometimes you never know when you’ll meet your person.
Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship:
Both Josh and I (Philippa) are based in Christchurch where we both grew up and have our own home – I’m in marketing and Josh is a lawyer.Â
We loved having such an intimate guest list as it meant being able to spend quality time with loved ones, without the pressure that comes with a big ceremony.
The last two years have taught us all to appreciate the beauty that’s on our doorstep and Natalie Marie Jewellery’s One of a Kind Sapphire Collection is a celebration of just that.Â

Sam and I have been together for almost 7 years now. Sam works as a doctor and I work in Policy at a Ministry.

Our wedding day was very different to what we originally planned, due to the pandemic. We had dreamed of getting married overseas on my mum and dad’s 40th wedding anniversary so that we could share their special date, but restrictions meant we had to change our plans.Â
