Jordan + Joseph by Taylor Lee Czerwinski

We naturally walked the property to embody the effortlessness, and it turned out beautiful.

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…

Joseph – I’m a tool and die maker. All around cool guy, introverted yet extroverted.

Jordan – I’m a creative web specialist. I am what I like to call the “extra” in the relationship. The extroverted introvert.

We’re both South Carolina natives. Both are passionate individuals who enjoy the mundane things of life with fun moments of adventure.

How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?

(2018) Before our current professions, we were coworkers! We both had much respect and high admiration for each other. Joseph and I were both fan favourites at work. People naturally gravitated to us. We didn’t work closely, but we often came in contact with each other. I can admit that we both secretly had a crush on each other. When others saw us talking, they would make comments about how well we paired together. After about three and a half years of being coworkers, we naturally grew a friendship with each other that led to us taking a weekend jet ski trip at the beach. After that trip, we were inseparable. Fast forward to 2024, we’re on another jet ski trip in Hilton Head, SC, and it’s a surprise engagement!

What styling and visual elements worked best for you? (could be things, the florals, particular hire products or your marquee, etc., something the stylist created or simply just the scenic beauty of your location or the existing design of your venue).

As the bride, I took full control of the styling and elements for our wedding. I referenced Pinterest for inspiration. I knew that I wanted a traditional look, even though we did not have a complete traditional-style wedding. I wanted to incorporate neutral tones in the colour scheme and embody an intimate, editorial feel with an effortless twist. The South Carolina State House was perfect. I loved the natural landscape of the grounds, the architecture of the building, and we had open range to take advantage of the property! We naturally walked the property to embody the effortlessness, and it turned out beautiful.

What did you enjoy most about the planning process, and do you have any tips for couples starting their wedding planning journey?

For us, the process of planning our wedding became overwhelming very quickly. It became most enjoyable after simplifying the entire process! Our photographer gave the best advice. That was to focus on what mattered most to us and build around that. We suggest that all couples keep open communication with each other throughout the process. Do not let the planning process become bigger than the reason for your union of becoming one. Create a budget and do it with no debt, if possible. Document the journey as much as you can for the sake of the memories and not just the wedding day. Remember to embark on making your special day feel special, not for others but for you two.

Tell us about your vendors. Were there any standout suppliers you would like to make special mention of?

We were very grateful for the service we experienced with each vendor. From the Officiant, Dry Cleaners Service, our Cake Decorator, Florist, and the Restaurant. Our amazing photographer made us feel so special. She captured our wedding beautifully. Shopping for my wedding dress at David’s Bridal was great! The associates were patient and helpful. As well as the staff at Men’s Warehouse. My husband received attentive service during his fittings. While he got himself ready for the wedding, my mom and sister played a huge part in helping me get dressed, my hair and transporting me to the venue. Beyond grateful for their contributions!

Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, and is there a story?

We were inspired by traditional wedding attire. Sticking to the editorial style. Joseph was very adamant that he wear a tuxedo with a bow tie. We decided to rent his tux and shoes. The details were what mattered to us most. His gold cuff links with pearl accents matched my pearl earrings (borrowed from my mom) and pearl beaded gold bracelet. I enjoyed picking out my dress! My mom, sister, my mother-in-law and sister-in-law all had a hand in helping me look for my dress. After trying on four dresses, I found my dress. My sister-in-law actually picked out the dress I ended up choosing. It flattered my figure perfectly so that I didn’t need alterations. I loved the details along the back of the dress. It was a must to sleek my hair back to show off the structure of the dress and accentuate my facial features. Still tying in that effortless look, I chose white open-toe lace flats. They were very comfortable for all of the walking we did.

Tell us about your wedding and engagement rings.

Our wedding was very intimate. We chose a courthouse-style wedding, inviting our close/immediate family. To capture the best lighting for photos, we chose to have a religious ceremony in the evening at 5, with the dinner reception to follow downtown Columbia at The Grand on Main near the State House. Both of us were filled with joyful emotions! Our family cried happy tears and blew bubbles as we joined as one. Joseph designed my engagement ring with Dana Augustine’s jewellers. A white gold dipped in platinum cathedral band with a half CT emerald cut GIA certified natural diamond. I customised my wedding band with Jared Jewellers. ¾ CT emerald step GIA certified natural diamonds. We had my husband’s wedding band customised through Rustic and Main. 14K yellow gold band with dinosaur bone and gold flakes engraved with our wedding date 08/12/2025. We were particular in our choices of rings. We wanted rings that would tell a personal story and hold significant meaning. potentially to be passed down one day.

What were one or two elements that were most important to you both that you were happy to spend a little more on? (food, photography, florals, the venue, your outfits?).

It was very important to us that we invested in photography. I am an aesthetics girl with a creative background. Having the documented memory of our special day captured aesthetically was well worth the investment. Along with making sure that our immediate family were in attendance and coordinated in the neutral colour scheme.

Was there a favourite moment (or two) that you will treasure always?

We will always treasure the day we went before God and our family to join as one. We both waited until the night before our wedding day to write our vows. Staying up extra late just to make sure every word counted before saying I do. Seeing our family smile and be filled with joyful tears as we exchanged rings. We’ll treasure the joy and every emotion felt that led us to the moment we officially became one.

What does being married mean to you, and are there any special rituals you have that you would like to share?

When I asked Joseph this question, he answered, “In marriage, you are my wife. You are my everything.”

(Jordan) – For me, marriage is the promise to God that I made to devote myself and join as one with my chosen person, my husband. The special ritual we have committed to is adding to our written vows each wedding anniversary. We always keep open communication with each other, eye contact and touch. We prioritise keeping the inner child within each other alive!
