Tallulah + Teddy by Catherine Nemanic

We leaned into a timeless, organic aesthetic, choosing a soft, natural colour palette.

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…

Teddy: We live in Avalon on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and have built a beautiful life here. Our home is a pavilion-style house overlooking Clareville Beach, surrounded by bushland and water. I own a holistic health business and operate my studio downstairs, which feels like a dream setup: work and home flowing seamlessly together.

I love to cook, so our home has always been a gathering place. We’ve shared countless meals around the table, often with friends, which has become one of the great joys of our life together.

We both love to travel and have just returned from Japan, which was such a special experience for us. We feel incredibly lucky to have both Pittwater and the ocean right on our doorstep – the balance of calm waterways and wild beaches perfectly reflects how we live.

How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?

Teddy: I met Tallulah one morning in August 2019 at a café in Avalon. She walked in with a friend, and instantly I felt something — a pull I couldn’t quite explain. She was, and still is, the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met.

We managed to squeeze in one date before I left for Mexico for three weeks to meet friends. From the day I got back, we were inseparable — and we’ve been “on” ever since.

What styling and visual elements worked best for you? (could be things, the florals, particular hire products or your marquee, etc., something the stylist created or simply just the scenic beauty of your location or the existing design of your venue).

Tallulah: The scenic beauty of Cottage Point did so much of the work for us, so our styling was intentionally minimal and considered. The bushland, waterways, and calmness of Pittwater became the foundation of the visual story, and everything else was designed to complement rather than compete with that setting. We knew we wanted to get married somewhere around Pittwater, as it has been special to both of us for years. Choosing Cottage Point felt perfect since Teddy grew up there, so celebrating in a place tied to his childhood added another layer of meaning to the day.

We leaned into a timeless, organic aesthetic, choosing a soft, natural colour palette that reflected the surrounding greens and blues. Being married at the local yacht club allowed us to embrace the existing character of the space, keeping things relaxed, authentic, and true to the area.

The florals by Sarah from Haven & Sarah Florist were a standout. Her approach was intuitive and landscape-led — nothing overworked or overly styled, just beautiful, thoughtful arrangements that felt as though they naturally belonged in the environment.

Overall, the most effective styling elements were simplicity, the sense of place, and letting the location speak for itself.

What did you enjoy most about the planning process, and do you have any tips for couples starting their wedding planning journey?

Teddy: My brother Tim owns an events and catering company called Gallivant, which took care of the catering alongside our dear friend
Sean Young – the food and service were exceptional and deeply personal. It was such a gift to sit down with my brother early on and talk
through what truly makes a great wedding. From the beginning, our priority was to create a day that was simple, beautiful, and (most
importantly) fun.

Food was incredibly important to us, so we knew we wanted a sit-down meal where people could really relax and connect. We also decided
on black tie, simply because it felt celebratory and fun, a chance for everyone to dress up and lean into the occasion.

If we had one piece of advice, it would be to enjoy every moment and focus on what genuinely matters to you as a couple.

Tell us about your vendors. Were there any standout suppliers you would like to make special mention of?

Tallulah + Teddy: Capturing the day in an elegant and genuine way was very important to us, and our photography by Catherine Nemanic Studio was a dream. Catherine brought the most beautiful, calming energy that instantly put us at ease, allowing us to feel fully present while she gently guided us with natural direction. The way she captured the emotions, the love, and the sheer energy of the day was beyond anything I could have ever imagined – her vision is truly extraordinary. Every moment felt authentic, and every image reflects the heart of our celebration. She was able to capture something we couldn’t explain. When we received everything – the album, the film, the vintage Polaroids it felt like reliving the day in the most meaningful, artful way.

Our wedding day was also shaped by the places and people we love most. We were so fortunate to work with friends and family who are truly some of the best in Sydney at what they do. From the outset, we wanted everything to feel simple, timeless, and beautiful. Tim and the entire team at Gallivant were an absolute pleasure to work with. They looked after so many parts of our day: the food, bar, waitstaff, furniture hire, and overall styling, and they brought everything together seamlessly.

Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, and is there a story?

Tallulah: I chose my dress from L’eto Bridal because I wanted something organic and whimsical – something that felt as though it truly belonged in the landscape. From the very beginning, they completely understood that vision.

Sourcing this locally was really important to me. Our community is something we treasure, so choosing my bridal dress from L’eto Bridal
made the entire experience feel personal, warm, and relaxed. The process felt intimate and thoughtful, with so much care taken to ensure
the dress reflected not just the setting, but who I am. It felt effortless, feminine, and natural and never over-styled, which allowed me to feel
myself entirely on the day.

Tell us about your wedding and engagement rings.

Teddy: Tallulah’s engagement ring was made by Erin from Union Studios. Tallulah and Erin actually worked together years ago, and I remember Tallulah saying early on, “If the time ever comes, go and see Erin.”

Luckily, five years later, I remembered. Erin helped me choose a ring that felt deeply personal and timeless… it couldn’t have been more perfect.

What were one or two elements that were most important to you both that you were happy to spend a little more on? (food, photography, florals, the venue, your outfits?).

Tallulah: Food was a huge part of our day. Teddy loves cooking, and some of our most treasured memories together have been made around the table, sharing meals. Creating that same feeling for our guests – warmth, generosity, and connection – was something we were more than happy to invest in.

Was there a favourite moment (or two) that you will treasure always?

Teddy: Seeing Tallulah for the first time on our wedding day.

What does being married mean to you, and are there any special rituals you have that you would like to share?

Tallulah + Teddy: Being married feels grounding. It’s a deep sense of partnership, choosing each other every day, supporting one another, and creating a life that feels intentional and full. Our rituals are simple: shared meals, morning swims, long walks, and always coming back home together.

In the end, our wedding day felt effortless, local, and completely us, grounded in the places and people that mean the most. These values are what we try to embody in our daily rituals as a married couple.
