Kate + Eddie by Time With Alex

My car was not starting when we were leaving from the Airbnb to go to the venue. I wish I had a photo but there was me in my beautiful dress jump starting the car.

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…

Kate: I work in the wedding industry myself. I design invitations and stationery so naturally I did my own, which was the most daunting task ever due to the pressure. I love spending time with Eddie, my son Hendrix and our 2 dogs Dora and Daisy. Our favourite thing to do is probably go out to brunch at a nice cafe.

Eddie: I have worked in many industries over the years, mainly engineering, procurement and nightclub management. Recently I delved into the world of Pokemon, which is now my full time gig as a small business owner. Quite an ‘out there’ way of making a living but I enjoy it. It also allows me to see my son more and watch him grow.

How/where/when did you meet – and what were your first impressions?

We met when we were just 15 years old through mutual friends. We happened to live in the same neighbourhood so we would often get lifts with each other to friends’ parties. We didn’t start ‘dating’ until 2 years after meeting.

Was there a proposal? Tell us a little about it…

14 year anniversary. Kate had no idea as she gave up on marriage at about year 10. It was at the beach up the road from where we are currently building a house. Our ‘new beginning’. Safe to say everyone was pretty shocked Eddie finally popped the question. Kate was definitely too stubborn to ever ask Eddie and give him that satisfaction.

Tell us about the vision you had for the mood or style of your wedding…

Modern romantic garden wedding? I loved the look of dainty, ethereal wild florals and minimalist paired back styling. Eddie was happy to go along with whatever I wanted. Kiera Blanden was the mastermind to pull it all together. I had met her through the industry and we are now great friends.

Did anything happen on your wedding day that you laugh about in hindsight (even if it was stressful at the time)?

My car was not starting when we were leaving from the Airbnb to go to the venue. I wish I had a photo but there was me in my beautiful dress jump starting the car HAHAHA. Always check the battery!

Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, is there a story?

My dress almost didn’t arrive. I had ordered it from my friend’s store (The Bride Lab) back in February 2021 and a few weeks later the war broke out in Ukraine to which I found out is where my dress was produced. Wearing that dress was meant to be though as Alena Leena’s production team managed to get back up and running in time.
