Designer Kelly Lin’s new collection, ‘Wild in May’, is a love letter to the women around the world who have continued to support the bridal house – especially after such a tough year for the industry.
A tribute to each and every member of the Kellylin Couture family, romance is at its heart with soft silhouettes and sweetheart necklines playing the lead role in this love story.
The ‘Piper’
The ‘Piper’ was the first to steal Together Journal’s eye. Designed to hug the female form, it’s beautifully framed by a deep sheer neckline and plunging back. Artfully sculpted from crepe, the tumbling train and buttons down the spine further elevate the minimal silhouette.
The ‘Chanel’
Sparkly and iconic, the silhouette is minimalism and elegant. Featuring a bust enhancing modern square neckline, feminine open back and illusion boned corset bodice. Perfect for a cocktail or black tie celebration.
The ‘Sydney’
Another choice for the no-fuss bride is the ‘Sydney’. Although a beautifully simple cut, the gown boasts a subtle sparkle which will glow in the warmth of the late sunshine.
The beauty is in the details here with hand beaded lace, spaghetti straps and pearl buttons down the low-scooped bodice.
The ‘Rebel’
Those seeking a little more on their wedding day are sure to fall for the ‘Rebel’. Like its name, the gown pushes the boundaries of bridal attire courtesy of its off-the-shoulder neckline and floral appliqué finish.
The ‘Coco’
The Coco gown exudes luxury. Botanic inspired lace hugs the body and enhances the figure with the help of a deep V neckline and low back. Modern but utterly timeless.
The ‘Gin’
For the fashion forward bride who is a little daring at heart. The Gin is feminine, floaty and just the right amount of sexy. We photographed this gown in our issue #22 fashion editorial and had so much fun playing with the gorgeous floaty skirt.
The ‘Lennon’
The Lennon is a figure flattering gown covered in intricate beadwork, a modern heirloom which will be passed down from one bride to the next.
The Regan Gown + Regan Veil
The Regan gown combines soft and sher tulle with a daring deep vee neckline (which will stay in place due to the invisible mesh). The skirt is a flattering A line shape made with an embellished lace and a fashion forward leg split. And there is also a Regan veil which can be worn with this gown or any other you choose.
The ‘Sydney’
The stunning fitted Sydney gown has a subtle sparkle, a plunging low back with a equally deep V neckline and spectacular train. The Sydney is a statement gown for the statement bride.
The ‘Rumour’
Perfect for a beach or garden wedding the lace on the Rumour gown has a cotton look making it the perfect, slightly more relaxed daytime wedding gown. We love the bodice lines and the way the straps follow the deep vee to the waistline.
Wild in May Separates
Though brides needn’t say “I do” to a wedding dress. Kellylin Couture has mastered the tricky art of bridal separates with a range of mix and match options on offer too. Or you might want to consider a gown for daytime and separates for your reception outfit. Below are just some of our favourites…
Boasting an open back and flutter cap sleeve, the ‘Scarlet’ is a glorious sway from tradition. Designed to be paired with either the fashion house’s ‘Florence Pant’ or ‘Monroe Skirt’, it’s an investment piece that can be worn far beyond the big day. While the Flora long-sleeve top eludes elegance on a wedding day we think it would look incredibly cool after the big day with a blazer and jeans
The ‘Nikki’, an incredibly versatile sequinned take on the classic top, will please the minimal bride seeking a little sparkle. And again, this gorgeous piece can be worn after your wedding too.
Each look is an embodiment of what Kellylin Couture stands for: real gowns for real women no matter what their wedding day may look like.
Every gown, top or pant can be styled as and how the bride likes whether that means adding a traipsing veil or sparkly jewels. In the above shoot, our friends over at Chaos & Harmony supplied the gorgeous footwear – providing plenty of inspiration for those seeking the perfect bridal shoe.
Be it a city hall elopement or lavish church affair, ‘Wild in May’ is designed to make brides feel good when it matters most.
