Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship…
We both felt destined to be together. We had seen eachother in passing multiple times over the years, but with regret, never introduced ourselves.
By the night we met neither of us were going to miss the opportunity and let another encounter pass. Six years later we are living out our dreams together in Sag Harbor, NY. We both share a passion for design and architecture and have been designing and building homes together in and around Sag Harbor. We believe in manifesting our future and despite not always knowing how we will get there, we know where we want to be and continue to reach for our dreams.
Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details…
Our love for hiking and the outdoors is what brought us to Lake Placid, NY. Brendan grew up camping around there with his family and when he took me for the first time I fell in love. It was the summer before our wedding and we knew this was where we wanted to get married. The Lake Placid Lodge is a magical place. Did I mention I believe in fairies, well that’s another story, but I always wanted a fairy tale wedding with twinkling lights, crystals, and lanterns.
The Lake Placid Lodge was the perfect setting for it. We had a three day event so we could enjoy as much time with all our loved ones who had to travel to be there. Friday evening we had a welcome bbq for all our guests and listened to live music.
As the lanterns lit up the dock at sunset, the moon glistened on the water and the sky was filled with an array of colors. Saturday, our wedding day, I woke up and went on a trail run with my best friend who married us and Brendan’s sister, my maid of honor. This was a special moment for me. The trail was walking distance from the lodge, but took us to a beautiful waterfall. When we said our I do’s we were surrounded with love, friendship and family and we knew we were exactly where we were meant to be.
What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day?
Moments after the ceremony we went out on the lake on a vintage Hackercraft. We were able to share a special moment together looking back at the lodge and seeing all of our family and friends waving to us from the shore.
Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together?
Appreciate what you have in each other and don’t sweat the small stuff.
