Chris: It started about five years ago when we were working together. We first crossed paths in the staff kitchen.
Nic was a few offices down and had a habit of always forgetting her swipe key for the kitchen, so I would always open the door for her and spark up a conversation. The first time I met Nic, I instantly knew I had to get to know her. She was smart and cute, and clumsy at the same time. I eventually worked up the courage to ask her on a date.
Nic: When the celebrant asked what qualities I love about Chris, I honestly struggled to narrow it down. He is patient, selfless, and so funny. The more time we spent together, the more I just knew. Chris is the calm to my chaos.
We wanted our wedding to be a big, relaxed party. We were a bit nervous about all the attention, but wanted to share the day with both our big friendship groups and Chris’s large Italian family. Instead of a sit down wedding, we had a cocktail style reception so our guests could move around, catch up with each other and we d have more room to dance.
My reception dress was a bit of a wild card. I really wanted a party dress but couldn’t find one that I loved. I asked a friend to help design my dress. We pulled it together just in time. On the way to the ceremony, the skies opened up, but fortunately, the rain never got too heavy. But rain on your wedding day is supposed to be lucky, right?
